Patton:
I looked at Patton and I almost burst out laughing. "Think you got enough tinsel there?"
He was covered head to toe with the sparkly tinsel and grinning from ear to ear. "Is there ever enough? I think we could use a little more."
I shook my head and unwrapped him. "You take decorating too seriously."
"You take decorating too lightly." He shot back.
"You're probably right." I couldn't help but laugh. "So after the tinsel is placed, then we can start adding all the ornaments."
He nodded. "Sounds like a plan!"
As we started to wrap the tree, Patton asked, "So, tell me, why did we put the star on first?"
"It's what we always did at my family. We wanted to make sure the wiring was all correct before we started really decorating." I shrugged.
He nodded. "So no special reason?"
I laughed. "Nope. Why? Are you disappointed or something?"
"No, not at all! I was just curious is all." He explained.
I smiled. "Do you have any traditions when it comes to decorating?" I questioned.
He shrugged. "The holiday season is something we don't take lightly. Honestly, if we were doing this by how I do things, the tree would already be up and decorated and there'd be a mountain of presents before December hits."
My jaw dropped and my eyes almost burst out of their sockets. "Really?"
He chuckled and nodded. "But I like how we're doing it this year. It's A LOT less stressful. I feel like I can really enjoy the holidays now."
I breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh thank God."
He burst out laughing. "What?"
"I don't think I could handle you're way of celebrating the holidays. I love this time of year, don't get me wrong, but not that much." I exclaimed.
He continued laughing. "Yeah, I can see how I may have gone a little overboard."
"A little?" I challenged, one eyebrow perking up.
"Ok, a lot!"
"That's what I thought." I mused to myself. We took a step back and admired the lights and tinsel and star. "Wow." I breathed.
Patton nodded. "I know."
I clapped my hands together and turned around to the three big boxes overflowing with ornaments and other holiday baubles. "Let's get decorating shall we."
I grabbed my favorite ornament, a marshmallow snowman on a piece of chocolate on top of a graham cracker (A/n True story: that is my favorite ornament my family owns), and got ready to place it in the front. However, Patton beat me to it.
"Patton!" I whined.
"What?" He asked and that's when I saw he placed a baby blue ornament with our names written in sparkly silver filigree.
"Aww!" I sighed.
He chuckled. "I love you, sweetheart."
"I love you too Pat," I whispered before kissing him.
Logan:
"Tea or coffee?" Logan called from the kitchen.
"Meet in the middle; apple cider," I replied from the living room in front of the TV with an assortment of movies spread out in front of me.
"Sounds good." I heard the telltale clang of mugs as he got them from the cupboard. I slid into the kitchen and grabbed the apple juice before he could and poured.
