Genius

We see everyone but ourselves as genius.

We see those who are significantly better at something else, those who have that one outstanding quality that we don't, as genius. We see those people who are brilliant and well-rounded and in tact with anything and everything, as genius. We see those whose hard work gets them somewhere as genius.

We are not genius.

We're not genius because we're misunderstood; we're misunderstood so often to the point where the misunderstandings are the bane of our very existence, and we're misunderstood to the point where it's embarassing, terrifying, horrifying, for us to speak our minds.

Geniuses are able to do anything; we are not genius.

To question and believe in your own thoughts, to follow through with what you believe is most true, to wonder and think and dream and learn in our own way, to do what's best for us and to believe in others as well as ourselves; that is genius.

We all have the capability of being a genius.

Every genius finds themselves in the same place that we see ourselves in now. Stand up, be firm and confident, and speak your latest conviction; your latest thought, that burning querie. Speak of whatever it is that you desire, and there will surely be someone else to wonder the same thing. Delaying and dismissing your thoughts delays your route to becoming a genius; tomorrow a stranger may have the same feeling or thought that you did at the time, and they may speak up before you do.

Don't let them.

Don't let the confidence and efforts of others stand in the way of yours; don't allow people with similar thoughts and opinions to lay shame upon your mind and soul as they voice the thoughts that make up your very being.

We're killing who we are to become someone else.

We're making room for the genius; we want to be like the genius; we want a part of the genius to transfer magically into ourselves, and that can only happen if we get rid of who we are on the inside. Our ignorance is eating us alive, and the degree to which we chastise and critisize ourselves is ultimately what's killing us, step by step.

We are betraying ourselves.

We're betraying the person who we're meant to be, and we're betraying the person we were raised to become; we're betraying our heart and soul and our mind; we're betraying our hopes and dreams and thoughts; we're betraying all that we are to become someone we're not, to become someone we're not meant to be.

We're leaving ourselves with no hope.

The future lies in our hands, and what good is it for us to all become the same person? We're forcing ourselves to have the same thoughts and ideas as the person beside us, and the person after. The fear of disappointing the genius of the group ripples through our entire being, because their eyes and the eyes of others, in our mind, focus solely on how we operate.

Contradict yourself.

Speak what's on your mind today with the full belief of what you're saying is you, and speak more words again, and the day after; speak of whatever your mind rests upon and build a nest in the growing branches of your brain; allow your thoughts to carry you, and you'll be on your way.

It's okay to be misunderstood.

It's okay to be misunderstood, and it's okay to be afraid; but it's not okay to hold back, nor is it okay to put a delay on what your mind is just exploding to say. Every man and woman before us who have walked this earth and have been considered genius was misunderstood at one point; if them, then why not us?

We are capable of being genius.

We are our own genius, and one day, the genius hidden in the crevices of our bodies that has been misunderstood for so long will soon be hailed; the people who have brought us down and who have misunderstood us for so long will have shame brought upon their genius, because to be great, is to be misunderstood.

You are genius.
