We are a part of the universe.

We make up the universe; we are the dark shadows casted behind sturdy lamp posts and across vacant streets. We are the buildings made of brick and stick and glass and stone and dirt, and we are the foundation of the ground that we walk upon.

We are the creators of our own kind.

We are a part of the people that we love; we are the people that others love. We are the brothers and the sisters and the parents and the sons and the daughters and the friends and the students and the teachers and the weary and the passionate; we are bright and beautiful and bold.

We are the words that we read.

We are the songs that make our hearts soar and we are the lyrics that make us cry. We are the movie scenes and fictional characters and elaborate plot lines that we create; we are the questions and the theories and the statements and the jokes made through breathing the same air as the universe.

We are time.

We are the past, the present, the future; we create our own destinies and our own stumbling blocks and our own happy endings. We are the creators of our own universe and we are the creators of other universes, too. We are our own adventures that we imagine and write and think and yearn for; we are the hopes and dreams that we have for others, as well as ourselves.

The universe is forever growing and expanding.

Everything we do is a part of this universe, our universe.

No one can take these things away from us, because they make up our universe; we make up each other's universes, and no one can take us away from ourselves.
