Author's Note:
Hey guys! I'm glad to see everyone enjoying the story so far but in this part, sh*t gets real dawg. There is REALLY graphic imagery and wording in here, so if you're not into that then please don't read this. I'm into detail so I got sick with the descriptions, but if you aren't into that then I'm sorry, just read the next part. But if you are into it, you are gonna LOVE this chapter. And full disclosure, I'm not a serial killer plagued by demented visions, but from the looks of this chapter, it will seem like I am. I'm not I swear, I just like sadistic imagery....I'm not helping my case am I? Oh well. Read on if you dare~

Anthony grabbed my wrist and wriggled out from beneath the safety bar. I slipped from beneath the bar and followed him out of the Ferris wheel cart.
"Come on! We gotta get out of here!" He shouted at me as we ran away from the carnival. I got a closer look at the monsters that invaded the carnival. Their skin was leathery, and the skin was loose and folding. There were things underneath the skin that were visually moving and traveling their humped bodies, like the beetles on The Mummy. Some of them had five mouths lined with serrated wicked teeth, others had one giant mouth that took up half of their lanky body. Acid green substances dripped from their skin-tight lips, burning and scorching whatever it landed on.
Their body types were short and humped, others were tall and bone-thin. But they all shared the same razor lined tongues, whipping people with them and tasting the blood their wounds leaked. Some of the monsters ate innocent people whole, grabbing their flailing bodies and devouring them in one giant bite. The ones with multiple mouths used all their limbs to rip apart their victims to feed the individual sets of gaping jaws.
This is what the woman was shouting about in the pawnshop. The monsters ate their victims and transformed into a bigger monster like the woman predicted.
"Wait! Anthony! You have to cover your nose and mouth! There's radiation in the air!" I remembered the Geiger counter she bought from that day. And if she could have predicted all of this with such accuracy I wouldn't take any chances. He obliged with no hesitation whatsoever. He took the hem of his shirt and covered it with his nose and mouth. I did the same as I tried to leave the park, literally having to dodge the monsters that tried to flog us with their tongues and jumping over discarded torn halves of live people.
A monster nearby shot it's tongue out at me. I jumped backward and fell on the hard floor, predicting it's movements a second before it happened. The tongue puncturing the arm of a young woman who was running alongside me. I watched with wide eyes, the skin tearing and the exposed muscle underneath ripping apart like loose-leaf paper. It cracked the bone in half and claimed the arm, her warm blood spattering my face as it was swallowed up by the monster. Her newly torn stump spurted scarlet liquid all over the carnival floor, the fairy lights strewn through the trees, making the blood look bright and cartoonish. After a moment's realization, a horrendous wail of pain, anguish, and shock belted from the woman's mouth as she fell to the floor. I was brought back up with Anthony's help, forced to leave behind the injured woman.
Whole puddles of blood and splintered pieces of bone had already littered the carnival floor, mixing together with the straw that covered the pavement. Food and drinks and stuffed toy animals were abandoned or used as weapons against the terrifying creatures. Men, women and children alike were screaming from terror, pain, shock, or a mixture of all three. If Hell came with a choir and soundtrack, this is what it would sound like.
We entered the parking lot with a flood of other people, some of them transforming into the pale disgusting monsters and devouring other victims. We kept running to the very end of the parking lot, cars exploding from the nearby fire that burned down some of the trees. The monsters stayed at the carnival gates, wolfing down more people and snacking on their arms and legs. People tried to escape them, but they ripped off more body parts with their lashing tongues, leaving them to suffer from the loss of their appendages. Blood was streaked across the floor, splattered all over the straw-covered pavement, shrieks and screams emanating from the mixed crowd of terrified people. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I watched the hellish episode unfold before me. Anthony held me close, comforting me and forcing me to look away.
