Prompt: "I wish I'd never met you."
Alexander sighed as he ran his thumb along the smooth-surfaced glass of the framed picture. It was a picture of John, smiling bright, flowers sticking out of his curly hair.
"You know what Johnny?" Alexander asked, setting the picture back against the cold stone of his husbands headstone. "Sometimes I wish I'd never met you," Alexander chuckled dryly, tears pooling in his eyes. "I remember when I met you, baby. You spilled your coffee on me, and I had to get my shirt dry-cleaned and you insisted on paying for it," Alex couldn't help but smile at the old memory that still remained prominent in his his mind. "And then- and then on our wedding day-" Alexander couldn't stop himself from laughing as sweet memories flooded his mind. "On our wedding day you spilled your glass of wine all over me. You were such a klutz, love." Alexander looked down at the grass, the memories only hurting him more.
"God I wish I could just have another day with you. Just to see your beautiful smile and your cute little freckles one more time," Alexander bit his lip, pulling his knees to his chest. "Why'd you have to leave me, John? I just don't get it." Alexander shivered as a gust of cold wind hit him, the autumn air quite harsh in the gloomy cemetery.
He couldn't help but stare at the letters engraved in the stone, John Laurens, son of Henry Laurens, husband of Alexander Hamilton-Laurens, father of Philip Hamilton-Laurens.
"Pip and I miss you so much, John," Alexander smiled sadly. "You know, he still asks me when he's going to see his Papa again. Baby, he loved you so much, I loved you so much. I still do," Alexander let his fingers graze the picture, his eyes falling on John's face, the smile on it making Alex wince. "My John," he whispered, smiling as tears rolled down his rosy cheeks. "You were mine, and I'm still yours."
"Yours forever."
