Prompt: "This is why I fell in love with you."
"Alex, where are we going," John crossed his arms, sighing. Alexander had told him they were going somewhere special, which John was excited about, except it was a surprise. John always hated surprises, and Alex knew that.
"Keep your eyes closed," Alexander scolded, catching John open them. "Baby, I've repeatedly told you. It's a surprise."
"But Lexi," John whined, furrowing his eyebrows. "You know I hate surprises."
Alex smirked as he pulled into the parking lot of the aquarium. "That only makes this more fun," Alexander got out of the car before going around the side of it, helping John out of the car, his eyes still shut. "Come on Johnny."
"Can I open my eyes?" John asked, becoming more frustrated by the second. Alexander pulled him to the front of the building where the sign was clearly visible before mumbling "open them". John gasped, his face brightening as soon as he realized where Alexander had brought him. "Alex! Oh my god this is my favorite place ever. We went on our first date here," John squealed, wrapping his arms around Alexander, kissing him passionately.
"Come on, let's go in," John let Alexander lead him into the building. Alex insisted on paying for their admittance, even though John protested.
"You could have let me pay," John huffed as Alexander handed the woman his credit card.
"I brought you here, John. I'm not letting you pay for a date I'm taking you on," John pouted, crossing his arms, only amusing Alex more. "Baby, it's not a big deal," Alexander wrapped his arm around John's waist, pulling him close.
"You two are cute," the woman said as she handed him back his card along with a receipt.
"Thank you," Alex said, grinning. He pulled John along, and John's face immediately lit up seeing the marine life. As John was distracted, to busy focused on a group of fish in the corner of a tank, Alex got down on one knee, pulling a small box from his pocket.
"Look at how pretty the fish are Lexi!" John giggled happily. He pouted hearing no response. "Lexi?" John repeated, receiving silence. John turned around, his eyes widening seeing Alex grinning nervously, the small box opening revealing a diamond ring. "Oh my god."
"John, I remember the first time I took you here. You almost cried because you were so happy, and your reaction is just as amazing now. This is why I fell in love with you. I knew it that very moment on our first date. I saw your eyes lit up and I knew in that very moment that you, John Laurens, were the only person for me," John felt tears roll down his cheeks. "Will you marry me?" John nodded, tears still pouring from his eyes as he threw his arms around Alexander's neck.
"Yes."
A/N: Sorry if this is bad guys. It's almost midnight and I've written five chapters today I'm kind of burnt out.
