TRIGGER WARNINGS

They had agreed to meet in front of the woods behind Jared's house in the morning. When he arrived, Jared was already there impatiently tapping his foot.
"You're three minutes late."
"Shut it Jared. What do you want me to do in order to get Evan back?"
"Well to start, C Dude, I like my daily, morning coffee. But not just any coffee. Specifically from the coffee shop between 6th and 180th street."
"But that's at least four hours away!"
"Exactly. I used to have to drive there myself, but now I have someone to do it for me. Ah this is really great. It's like having a maid for free!"
"And what if I don't want to drive four hours every day?" Connor questioned.
"Then this happens," Jared took out his phone and started tapping the screen repetitively as Connor watched with a perplexed look on his face.
"Technical difficulties," Jared apologized "Ah here we go..."
The phone projected the ear splitting sound of a boy screaming.
"I-is that Evan?" Connor asked in shock.
"Well, no. If he screamed you'd find out where he was. This is just what comes up on YouTube when you look up '17 year old boy screaming'. But you're smart enough to get the idea."
"What do you order Kleinman?"
"Mr. Kleinman,"
"Fuck you."
"Find the girl named Victoria. She knows my usual order," Jared explained.
Connor got in his car and made eye contact with Jared to flip him off through the windshield.

Eight hours and two spilled coffees later, Connor arrived at school. Finding Jared in the 800 wing, he shoved the coffee at the boy.
"It's cold," Jared complained as the froth settled above his lip. "Maybe you should go get me another one..."
"No way. Drink it and appreciate it."
"Speaking of appreciation, I was thinking of making today 'National Jared Kleinman Appreciation Day'. How does that sound? And if you say that it's a bad idea, I'll hurt Evan," Jared smirked.
"I don't have much of a choice then, do I?"
"Good point. But isn't my idea amazing?"
"Wonderful, just wonderful," Connor said sarcastically through gritted teeth.
"I knew you'd think that," Jared laughed.
Connor could practically feel the steam coming out of his ears.
