  "So let me get this straight, you're 17!?"

   Cody and I sat on the couch while Chris, his roommate asked us questions. Cody said we had to tell him so he could keep it a secret, especially since I'd be around Cody a lot. Cody promised to only tell him about my age, not anything else.

"Yea, I'm 17." I reply, my hand suddenly feeling sweaty while it rested in Cody's.

"And the fact that you guys are dating even though it's illegal isn't scaring you guys at all?" Chris started freaking out, telling Cody how he could get sent to jail and his career could be tarnished which were all pretty legit things that could happen.

Cody wasn't worried though. "We're not dating because of that fact that Emberly's underage, we know that this can't be found out. We just need you to help keep this a secret."

Chris sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "Please don't tell me you guys have had sex already."

Neither of answer and he closes his eyes, taking a huge breath and pulling up on his temples. "Cody if you get caught this could get you thrown into prison. Sex with a minor is legit shit man and you could get in so much trouble. Even if she consents they'd still charge you with statutory rape because she's a minor."

What he was saying started to worry me. What if something happens and Cody and I get caught. He could go to jail for being with a minor and they could throw me in jail for what was basically child prostitution. Cody sensed my panic and started rubbing my back in small circles to try and get me to calm down.

    "Chris we'll be careful, it'll be okay. You just have to help us make sure that no one finds out about this."

    "Okay, I'll help you guys. But please don't get caught."

    "We won't, I promise." Cody says, letting of my hand and standing up to hug his friend.

    "How did this even happen?" Chris asks while sitting on the recliner across the living room.

    Cody laughs slightly to himself and shakes his head. "We just connected I guess man, I don't really know how it happened."

    Chris nodded and took the remote off of the coffee table. "What do you guys wanna watch?" He asks while flipping through channels.

"Actually Emberly and I are gonna head to my room, I wanna talk to her about something." Cody says and takes my hand, leading us to his room.

"Okay, by the way, Victoria's coming over tonight, are you guys still gonna be here? What should I tell her about Emberly?" (a/n belliseggos girl i told you I'd put it in😂)

Cody looked at me and back at Chris with confusion written across his face. "Uhm, just say she's 20." He says before walking back down the hall.

"Who's Victoria?" I ask while taking a seat on Cody's bed.

Cody laid down beside me and pulled me down next to him by my arm. "Victoria's his girlfriend."

I nod and roll onto my back. "You did good in your game tonight."

"How would you know, you were busy selling jerseys." He says with a laugh.

    "I know because someone came buying one because she said you were doing really good that game, oh and she said she needed one 'cause you were cute." I say smirking.

    Cody rolls his eyes and laughs. "I hate when people have favorites based on looks. Why do you think Seager's jersey is the most popular."

    "She's not wrong though; you're pretty cute."

    He kissed me before standing up and walking to his dresser. He strips down to his underwear and changes into sweatpants. "Do you need to change?"

    I shake my head because my leggings and jersey should be fine. I wanted to be fully clothed when Chris's girlfriend came over with dinner.

    "Are you ready to go back out?" He asks, taking my hand and spinning me around so I was facing him.

    I nodded and reached up to kiss his lips. We walked hand in hand back out to the living room and saw Chris and a girl setting plates around the island.

    "You must be Emberly, I'm Victoria!" The tallish girl approached me and embraced me with a hug.

    "Hi, yea I'm Emberly." I was almost always awkward around new people.

    "Well Chris and I just finished laying out the food so everyone help themselves!"

    I grabbed a plate and walked around all the food options before sitting down. I was hungry so I grabbed wings, breadsticks and a sandwich from the buffet style set up.

    Cody sat next to me and started diving in on his food while Chris and Victoria did the same.

    The rest of the night went well. After dinner we went out to get frozen yogurt and then came back and watched a few movies on the couch.
