I screamed even though I knew no one could hear me. I tried loosening the grip the ropes had around my wrist for what was probably the hundredth time. Nothing was working though. They had left me nothing: they stole my clothes, my furniture, my money, and what felt like my soul.
I was wondering why he had been on his phone the whole time we were walking to my apartment and now I was almost positive that I knew.
He had planned this. I probably sound dumb saying it but I should've known something was wrong when he brought out rope. I didn't question it though because guys have tied me up for it before; after all they were the ones that always wanted to feel in charge.
He tied me to the metal rails that support my bed and started getting rough with me. He would grip my neck so tight I couldn't breath, then he would hit me. He hit me so hard that my face was bruised and he even broke the skin on a few of them.
I tried screaming but his grip around my neck got tighter. I couldn't process what was going on.
He finally stopped but only to open the door for more men to come in. A few of them started raiding through my apartment while the other ones started taking turns with me. Everything finally started taking its toll on me and I blacked out.
When I woke up they were gone, and so was everything else. I was still tied up so I couldn't see my whole place but everything that was in my view was missing. I didn't own much, but what I did own, it all was gone.
That was two days ago. I'd been alone like this for two days. Cody was coming back today and I knew he was worried. I hadn't talked to him in two days and the whole reason he bought me a phone was so he could make sure I was okay while he was gone.
I knew he would be here soon and I knew I was going to have to explain everything.
There was a pounding on the door and I froze. Did they come back?
"Emberly! Open the door please!" It was Cody. I tried to scream out to tell him I couldn't but I couldn't get anything out with the bandana they have shove in my mouth still in. "Emberly I know you're in here. Why won't you open the door?"
I tried spitting it out but it wasn't working. I shook my head back and forth, using my tongue to try to push it out and finally, I got it out. I was out of breath but I still managed to shout out loud enough. "Cody!" I could only get out one word but hopefully it would be enough.
He didn't say anything back. I was convinced he had left until I heard a crash. The door came down and Cody came through it. When he saw me, he froze. How else are you suppose to react when you break down a door and see someone naked and tied up to a metal frame.
He rushed over to me and used his pocket knife to cut the rope. When he freed my hands he pulled me into his arms. He set me down and pulled off his hoodie and helped me put it on.
"Emberly, what happened to you?" He asked with tears in his eyes.
I didn't say anything because I had promised him I wouldn't go out anymore.
"You went out, didn't you?"
I looked away and nodded. I couldn't meet his eyes, I felt too ashamed.
He stood up and walked down the hall. "You went out and look what happened Emberly! Exactly what I knew was gonna happen!"
