Chapter sixteen

Michelle's POV

"Will you marry me?"

I have no words. We literally were speaking about it last night. Now it's coming true.

I tried speaking but nothing came out. Finally my response came out.

"Y-yes. Yes!" I said.

Luke gets up and puts the ring on me.

He hugs me and spins me around. He puts me down and kisses me.

"Okay but I promised Ashton that we would wait a while to get married since we're still young." Luke said.

"I agree." I said.

"What time is it?" Luke asked.

I checked my phone and it said 4:25.

"It's 4:25." I said.

"Damn time passes by fast." Luke said.

"Agreed." I said.

Luke's phone starts ringing and he answered it.

"Hello?" He said.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Ashton. Hold on. I'll be back." He said.

Why doesn't he just talk to him in front of me? He always does. I decided to just sit on a swing and stare at my engagement ring. And it's on top of my promise ring that he gave me.

Luke's POV

"Everything ready?" I asked.

"We are just waiting for Michael to bring the cake and the present. Also we are waiting for the guests. Well which will only be us and the family. Wait. You invited Michelle's friends from school and the one who works at the coffee shop right?" Ashton said.

"Yeah. I invited them. They told me they would be there around 4:30 or 5." I said.

"Good. Okay well keep distracting her for maybe 15 minutes more and then bring her back. Since the ride must be at least 20 minutes or so. Right?" He said.

"The ride was about 15 minutes. But don't worry. Everything is going fine." I said.

"Did you propose?" Ashton asked.

"She said yes." I said smiling.

"Congrats!" He said.

"What did she say?" I hear Calum ask.

"She said yes!" Ashton said.

"Congrats Luke!" Calum yells.

"Thanks. Well I got to go before Michelle gets any suspicion about the surprise." I said.

"Alright. See you in a few." Ashton said.

I hung up and go back to Michelle.

"Sorry. He was wondering what your response was." I said.

"It's okay." Michelle said.

"So what do you want to do now?" I asked.

"Can we get some ice cream before we go back home?" She asked.

"Sure thing... Mrs. Future Hemmings." I said.

"I still can't believe we are getting married.. in a few years." Michelle said.

"I know. I'm excited too." I said.

We went to a small ice cream shop that was close to the park and we got ice cream. We ate it in the car and it was already 4:37.
