Being best friends with Peter Parker had never been easy. You had always had to tend his wounds -when you were children, because of the bullies; and now that you were teenagers, because of him being Spiderman. But you would never stop being his best friend. He was always there for you -he always helped you with homework, he always bought you chocolate when you were on your period, and most importantly, he always tried to be with you even when Spiderman was needed, making sure you were okay with him leaving before doing so.

''I aced that exam, [Y/N], I'm telling you'' Peter said, a smile on his face.

''You always do, Peter'' you answered, shaking your head and rolling your eyes, a smile on your face as well. ''My parents aren't home until later tonight, do you think I can stay at yours?'' you asked him. You didn't mind being home alone, but you preferred being with Peter. You lived in the same apartment building, a few floors down, so you didn't have a problem with leaving his house at late night.

''You know you can'' he said, throwing his arms around your shoulders. You tried not to focus on that, not to focus on the way your heart was beating faster than normal.

You walked in silence, happy that you could spend the afternoon with Peter and hoping his duties as Spiderman wouldn't ruin it.

''Damn,'' Peter said, catching your attention ''look at that car. There must be someone rich visiting a neighbor.''

You nodded and didn't give it much thought, taking the elevator with Peter.

''Hey, Aunt May'' Peter said, his arm still around your shoulders.

''How was school today?'' May asked.

''Okay'' Peter answered, removing his arm from your shoulders to leave the keys and his backpack on the counter. You instantly missed it, but said nothing. ''There is this crazy car parked outside...'' his words were cut off as he saw Tony Stark sitting on his couch next to his aunt, his eyes opening wide.

''Oh, Mr. Parker'' Tony said, a smirk on his face.

''Um... Wha-What are you doi–hey! Um, I'm-I'm-I'm-Peter'' Peter stuttered, crossing his arms to stop his hands from moving.

You zoned out, looking between both men and furrowing your brows. You didn't realize the conversation was over until Peter's arm touched your shoulder, bringing you back to reality.

''Uh, you know, can [Y/N] come?'' he asked, a small smile on his face. ''She knew about the grant as well.''

You didn't understand anything he said, but nodded anyway, not wanting to be excluded from their conversation.

You got into Peter's room and sat on his bed, your back resting against the headboard. All your hopes about having a relaxing night with Peter went away as Tony got a kind of phone out, showing some videos of Spiderman. You zoned out again, too upset to want to pay attention.

''Not even your...unusually attractive Aunt? I guess your girlfriend does -she is here, after all'' Tony said, pointing at you.

Your head rose, a blush covering your cheeks.

''We're not-uh, we're not dating'' you quickly said, your eyes moving to Peter and seeing him blushing as well. ''We're just friends. But if you are talking about Spiderman, yes, I do know'' you said, nodding your head softly.

After the embarrassment, you zoned out again, just wanting him to be gone already so Peter would tell you he needed to leave as well. When he finally left the room, you got up from Peter's bed and you stood at the door of his room, your hands in the pockets of your sweatshirt.

''Mrs. Parker, I'm going to take Peter with me to the Stark Tower so he'll get used to everything. It would be great if I could take him right now. Is that okay with you?'' Tony asked, a flirtatious smile on his lips.

''Yes, of course!'' May said, a huge smile on her face, proud of her nephew.
Peter stood next to you, a nervous look on his face as he started to pack. You helped him silently, choosing some t-shirts for him.

''I'm sorry'' he whispered.

''I know'' you whispered back, too tired of being ditched to even argue with him. ''It's fine.''
He knew it wasn't fine, and you knew he knew, but there was nothing neither of you could do.
You walked with him downstairs, Tony a few feet in front of you. You were not ready to have Peter leave for a week, but you knew he was needed.

When Tony got inside the car, Peter left his bag in the trunk and turned to you, a small smile on his face.

''I don't know where I'm getting the courage to say this from, but'' he started, looking straight into your eyes ''in case I die, do you want to go out with me? You know, it would be nice dying knowing we dated, even if it was for a-'' his words were cut off by your lips, pressed firmly against his, your hand grabbing his t-shirt.

''Come back alive and I'll tell you'' you whispered when you broke apart, your foreheads pressed against the others. You gave him one last small kiss and run back into the building, a smile on your face as you got into your house.

Needless is to say, he came back alive and even bruised, he took you on a date, a huge grin on his face as he told you how he beat Captain America and Ant-Man.
