The pups headed to where the explosion took place and it was Mr Porter's restaurant. "Someone blew up Mr Porter's restaurant!" said Chase. "But who?" said Rocky. "Probably Ryder, but let's go find out!" said Zuma. "If only Marshall was here, he could've put the fire out!" said Skye. They all whimpered at hearing Marshall's name, because they all miss him. The pups headed inside the restaurant and saw a lot of dead bodies everywhere. "Ryder needs to be stopped!" said Rocky. All the pups looked for Mr Porter or Alex but couldn't find anyone. "AHHHH!" screamed a voice.
"That sounded like Alex!" said Rubble. "ALEX! BUDDY, WHERE ARE YOU?!" screamed Chase, but no response. The pups were following his echo, and they found Alex under a pile of debris. "ALEX, WHAT HAPPENED?!" said Chase. "Grandpa, he did this." said Alex as his eyes shut. Chase checked for breathing, but didn't hear anything. "He's gone!" said Chase as he took his cap off and put it to his heart to show respect to Alex. All the pups howled of silence knowing they lost a friend, but when they heard the building start rumbling, they headed for the exit, but debris fell blocking the exit.
"We've got to get out of here!" said Skye. "We will, don't worry Skye!" said Chase. "Pups, look up there!" said Rocky pointing at an air duct. "Great work Rocky, come on pups!" said Chase, as he boosted all of them up. "Wait Chase, how are you going to get up here?!" said Rocky. Chase saw the fire coming closer so he had to make the biggest jump of his life. "Please make it Chase, I can't lose you!" said Skye frightened. Rocky held out his paw for Chase to grab, and Chase was thinking to himself, "Only one shot at this!" and he ran at full speed and jumped as high as he could and grabbed Rocky's paw, and Rocky pulled him up. All the pups then exited through the air duct and got out of the building, relieved that they were almost in that.
