Chapter 3

Alexandra's POV

It's almost ten in the evening when I arrived at The Celestial District. It's a business center in the city owned by the Angeles. It's quite nice, I would say.

Malapit lang naman sa entrance ng TCD ang Zenith, it's the exclusive bar I looked through the internet which I decided na puntahan tonight. I settled on the bar counter since wala naman akong kasama.

I ordered a special cocktail drink. Meanwhile, a guy suddenly sat beside me. I just minded my own business at tahimik lang din naman siya. I shifted my gaze at the dancefloor and unfortunately, a familiar face showed up.

Funny!

I didn't know na parang forest pala ang club na 'to, may ahas kasi.

She's too clingy just like before.

That Devi'l, kasama niya pa si Trent-ado.

So, they really end up together?

Edi good for them, better for me.

"Alone?" The guy beside me spoke.

I looked around to see if he's talking to someone else, then I looked back at him who's already looking straight at me.

"Obviously?"

He chuckled with my response.

"And I think you're too pretty to be alone tonight." He told me.

Is he hitting on me now?

"Don't you think pretty's an understatement?" I leaned against the bar counter while my right hand is on my chin, then rolled my eyes.

"Oh, sorry. That's silly of me." He did the same and our faces are just inches away.

I didn't move away. Two can play this game.

"You're really something.. it makes me want to know you even more." He said, while still staring at me.

"What makes you think I'm going to let you?" I asked in a challenging tone.

"Well, I'm just hoping. That's all I can do, every single time." I felt the shift of his mood when he said that. He then drank his tequila in one go.

"You got your heart broken." I blurted out of nowhere. He chuckled.

"Aren't we just the same?" He gave me a meaningful look, as if he's so sure.

This time, ako naman ang napainom.

Why do I have to be reminded by it?

And why am I still affected?

It's been three years. Yet, parang kahapon ko lang nalaman na niloko niya ako. Kasi ang sakit-sakit pa rin. He fooled me good when I thought I finally had someone who will always choose me.

"You know, we can forget about them. Even just for tonight. I'm Ethan Alvarez, by the way." He then offered his hand to me.

I think what he said is not that bad after all. Besides, ganito din naman ako sa Paris o sa kung saang bansa man ako pumunta. I met a lot of guys and even girls to party with and we don't even meet again.

"Alexandra Rivera." I took his hand and introduced myself, too.

Ethan and I took a few more shots before gracing the dancefloor. He's indeed a good company, he wasn't handsy which impressed me. There I thought for a moment na naghihintay lang siya ng opportunity to get all over me. Mas mahina pa nga yata ang alcohol tolerance niya kaysa sa'kin.
