Chapter 11

From then on, everyday, Eren would find a single rose outside of his chamber doors.

He had attempted to stay up all night just to capture whoever the person was.

He was not scared like Mikasa had warned him to be in these situations.

He found the gesture quite exhilarating...

However his plans had not turned out the way he wanted them to, he had originally planned to stay up without a wink of sleep just to capture the person, he began to grow tired however and finally gave in to sleep.

And sure enough, the next morning, a red rose lay on the contrasting white tiles outside of his doors.

He picked it up delicately, not wanting to shatter the petals and placed the flower in a vase of water along with the many others he'd also received.

His sister had questioned the strange behaviour and she confronted Eren about it.

"Eren, you could be in danger..."

"...they're sending me roses Mikasa..." he replied sarcastically.

"This shows they must have feelings for you! You cherishing them is showing the person you accept them, you should throw them away immediately!"

"But they're so beautiful, I've never seen such pretty flowers in all of my life, not even from our own garden!"

What the prince said was true, the roses were not from the palaces garden, it was a special red rose, the royal roses were white and pink in colour.

The prince had begun to wear the flowers in his hair when they had started to wilt, they still looked just as beautiful.

"Good morning Eren- My, where did you find such beautiful flowers!" The Queen had spoken, interrupting the tables quiet talking.

"Someone gave them to me, aren't they gorgeous!" He swished to his seat, making a show of the flowers in his brunette hair.

Mikasa scowled at her brother, she glared across at him as he scraped his chair closer to Levi's.

The princess had an idea of who could of been placing those flowers there, she was not stupid.

An additional finding was that a person could not find those types of red roses for miles, they would of had to of come from a town far away.

As far as the town of Eelry...

"Levi, do you have any idea who the perpetrator is?" She began, scanning for his reaction.

Before a reply came Eren separated the two.

"Mika, don't say it as if it's a crime. They just gave me flowers, it's not a big deal..."

"It shows they have feelings for you."

"Not necessarily..."

The ravens anger boiled from the inside.

"Levi. I wish to speak with you privately in my chambers..."

The table was silent yet again, the queen did not utter so much as a gasp, the king was tight lipped, Levi was shocked and Eren had a look of anger spread across his features.

"Mikasa-" The boy started.

"Alright."

"Y-you don't have to go Levi-"

"-I can't really say no..."

Mikasa clapped her hands loudly, making the two men jump in their seats.

"Excellent. Mother, father, I am full. Levi I expect to see you after you finish..."

"Whatever."

When the princess had left the dining room Eren turned to Levi.

"Do you have any idea what she wants to talk about?"

"Yeah..."

"What?!"

"She probably thinks I'm the one who's giving you those roses..."

The boys eyes went wide, mouth slightly parted.

"...you aren't..."

"No, why would I do that?"

"Right... why would you do that..."

He laughed weakly and stood abruptly, the legs of the chair scratched at the wooden flooring.

"I-I am full, thank you all for your company. I will be in my chambers if I am needed. Goodnight."

He bowed and quickly walked out.

The queen sighed loudly, a whine ending it.

"I am also full..."

She declared and left without another word.
