Once I finished up in the Nurse's, I exited the building. I then spotted Liam and Mr. McCarthy sitting on a bench outside. They're worried faces glanced up in my direction as I walked up to them awkwardly. I mean, how was I supposed to act? My hot teacher and hot lab partner like me? As if!
"Hey. How ya feeling?" Liam got up and stood before me, concern written all over his face while he nervously tried to read my expression.
"Um, I'm okay. I mean, I'll be okay. I should probably just go home for the rest of the day."
Mr. McCarthy now stood up silently.
"I can give you a ride back to your apartment. I mean, considering I can you a ride here. And you're in no condition to walk." Liam stated, digging his hands in his pockets, searching for his car keys.
As I was about to protest because I didn't want Liam to miss his next class, Mr. McCarthy beat me to it.
"I don't think that will be necessary Mr. Winston", Liam's eyebrows rose up in frustration and questioning anger. "There's no need for you to miss your next class. I can give you a ride, Sky. I don't have an upcoming class." Mr. McCarthy turned to me, his eyes searching mine for an answer.
"Uh, okay... okay, ya sure. Sounds good." I stumbled out my response.
I turned to Liam and saw his clenching and unclenching his jaw. I grabbed his arm to gain his attention. When his fiery eyes reached mine they automatically softened.
I tried to see the situation from his point of view and I would be annoyed too.
The person I like being stolen away by someone attractive.
Hmm, can't relate. It's not like that exact situation happened this morning with Lexi, just the roles reversed.
Oh, the circles I go in with Liam.
I sent him a warming smiling, "Liam I appreciate the offer. I just wouldn't want you to miss class." A small smile began to form on his face at my soft words and kind smile. I always knew how to handle that kid, I laughed to myself.
"Alright, just text me when you get back safe. And call me tonight. Just wanna make sure you're okay." I averted my eyes downward, giggling at his overprotectiveness.
"Yeah, yeah. Now get to class." I laughed, lightly shoving him in the direction of his next class.
He chuckled, shaking his head. His eyes still on me as he began walking backwards with that stupid smirk.
I hate it when he does that.
It's like he's a model on a runway.
I was still dreaming about Liam, I didn't even realize he was out of sight until I heard someone clear their throat next to me.
Oh.
Right.
Forgot Mr. McCarthy was still next to me.
I turned to look at him and sent him a smile.
Why did he have to make this so hard?
Why did he have to be so damn attractive?
He just couldn't make this easy on me, could he?
Oh, I'm so screwed.
