Angryson's class dragged on for eternity, especially considering Liam was still fuming about god knows what. Which pretty much meant it was boring because I had no one to talk to and kill the time with.
She finally dismissed the class, and I was packing up swiftly hoping to escape the confrontation with Liam that I knew was inevitable. I knew he was my ride home, but I mean I could just lie and say I had to talk with Ms. Anderson, and he could go home without me. I mean don't get me wrong, I am the definition of lazy, but I was willing to walk home in order to avoid the agonizing pain of the incoming conversation. Said conversation discussing the topics of why I was with a teacher, and to make it even worse, he caught me red handed blushing at a teacher winking at me.
More like caught red faced, am I right?
Anyways...
WHAT WAS HE SUPPOSED TO THINK?
THAT I WAS HOOKING UP WITH MY EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE PROFESSOR WHO HAD DEADLY GOOD LOOKS?
I wish I could, BUT NO. I CAN'T HAVE HIM THINKING THAT.
I know Liam would never tell anyone about anything to do with me because his friends spread rumors like wildfire, but better safe than sorry.
AKA, better to clear the air than get kicked out of college and have my professor fired.
So, even though the situation has to be sorted out, the dreadful conversation can wait a while.
Right?
Let me tell you Liam certainly didn't think that. He marched right up to me saying, "Sky, we can talk on our way to lunch. I don't even know where to begin."
"Liam, uh, actually I have-"
"No, you have no excuse. C'mon", Liam began dragging me out the door, barely giving me enough time to grab my bag.
I wish I was 6 feet under now.
KILL ME.
Just as I was beginning to lose all hope, Mr. Hotstuff was waiting at the bench near the entrance of the building we were currently leaving, Liam still basically dragging me behind.
"Skylar." Mr. Hotstuff called out to us. He got up from his rather bored and uncomfortable seating, heading in our direction as we came to a stop.
I turned to look at Liam, and he looked beyond annoyed and done.
That boy must be really hungry for lunch. What a cranky baby.
"Um, hi Mr. McCarthy." I said confused to Mr. Hotstuff who was now right in front of us. I was confused at the fact that it seems he waited for me here my whole class period.
"Hello Skylar. Liam." Mr. Hotstuff acknowledged Liam, nodding at him.
"Is there something we can help you with?" Liam questioned dryly. "We were actually just on our way to lunch."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt your lunch plans, but Skylar said she could discuss her last paper with me during her lunchtime." Mr. Hotstuff stated.
Now we were all confused.
Liam turned to me glaring, confused as to why I would tell Mr. Hotstuff I was available when we had lunch plans.
Mr. Hotstuff gave me a questioning look, confused at my conflicting schedule.
I was confused at myself because I usually never have a conflicting schedule. I only have like three friends.
"Oh, uh, right." I was answering their questioning looks as fast as I could. I turned to face Liam. "Mr. McCarthy asked me if I could go over my paper with him at lunch, while you were already walking into class." I answered him leaving out the fact it was stupid Lexi who pulled him away.
Liam looked angry, but he couldn't argue with a teacher. He was probably just mad I was ditching him. I bet he's never had someone pick another person over him. I mean he is Liam Winston, hottest student on campus, captain of the lacrosse team, star baseball player, all the girls want him, and all the guys want to be him. To put it in better words, I bet he's never been rejected by a girl before. I mean who would. Once again, he is Liam Winston. He had gorgeous blonde hair, stunning orbs the color of the sky on a stormy day, a fine jaw line, and he was obviously built due to his sports training. He was the college boy every girl dream of in high school. I admired him while weighing my options.
Go to lunch with Liam hoping it would lead to something? Though it never does. Or spend time with my hot ass psyche teacher discussing my paper and who knows? Maybe that can turn out better than whatever Liam and I have. I made my decision.
"Liam, I'm sorry. I never got to tell you that I'd have to take a raincheck on our lunch plans. I mean we get lunch together all the time. You can survive one day without me right?" I joked, hoping to ease the current tension in the atmosphere.
Liam's jaw tightened for the millionth time today, as he turned and sighed. "Ya, I guess that's cool. But you owe me, Vince"
I knew Liam was even more irritated at me, if that was even possible. He didn't even make eye contact with me as he said bye and walked away.
Man, I feel like shit.
I mean a girl like me is friends with a guy like Liam, and I just turned him down. Am I a narcissistic moron?
Yes, indeed I am.
Anyways...
Teacher time!
