Late Alarm

*Marinette's POV*

I awoke at the sound of Tikki's little hand batting at my ear.

"Marinette! Wake up!! You're late!", she yells.

"Late for what?", I ask sleepily, not realizing I was late for school. Once it finally sinks in, I jump right into the bathroom, and 3 minutes later I'm out the door running to the next block and into my classroom.

"What's your excuse this time, Miss Dupain-Cheng?", Ms. Bustier rolls her eyes and asks me as I come sprinting in through the door.

"Umm, I had to uh--help my dad unload some ingredients for an order that came in and lost track of time.."

Ms. Bustier sighs and waves me off to my seat. I dash to sit down and when I'm situated, Alya begins to interrogate me.

"So where were you really Mari??", Alya nudges me for a response.

"I had a really long night and it seems my alarm didn't go off.", I shrug as I check on my phone why exactly my alarm was late.

On the screen it stated 'ALARM TO GO OFF AT 7:00 P.M.'

"Pff, no wonder it didn't go off.", I think to myself.

As the teacher goes on with her lecture, I eventually doze off back to sleep. As her speech goes on, Ms. Bustier immediately stops mid-word as she and the rest of the class see a humongous beetle being ridden by an akumatized civilian pass by through the window. The teacher tells us to go and find a safe spot to hide. Alya wakes me up to run and as we hide she updates me on everything.

"Alya I'll be back, okay? I really have to uh--go get something from my locker.", I say trying to find an excuse to go and transform.

"And what's so important that you need to get during an Akuma attack?!", she whisper-yells while grabbing on to my arm.

"I'll be right back, I promise. If I don't, I'll probably just be hiding somewhere else if I see the Akuma again.", I reply.

Alya sighs and lets go of me as I go around a corner searching for a private place to transform. As I keep looking, my tired aching body finally starts making me lose momentum in moving. I finally turn another corner and lean against a wall. I open my purse as Tikki flies out, little did I know we weren't alone.

"Let's get this done and hopefully get the rest of the day off because of the conditions the school is under right now.", I groan as Tikki supportively nods and gives my temple a hug.

"Tikki, Spot's On!"
