Mal packed her magic bag with her dire necessities, then looked around the room she shared with Evie. She noticed something on Evie's bed, and went for a closer look. There, underneath the pillows, was a feather, sticking out. Mal frowned as she realized it was one of Luna's feathers from her headdress.
Just then, Evie walked in, a smile on her face. "Mal, what's wrong?", she asked, smile disappearing. Mal raised the feather to Evie's face. "I guess you and Luna had a real good time in here!", she said, rolling her eyes. Evie sensed her friend's mood, and took the feather from her hand.
Evie felt guilty as Mal looked at her funny. "Evie! Why was this in your bed?", asked Mal. Evie didn't feel like she had to be chastised for her sexual preferences, and stood, back straight, looking Mal in the eyes. "I invited Luna for a sleepover! We got loads of work done!", she said.
Mal wasn't buying it. Ever since Mal and Uma's relationship failed, Mal had since been with Harry Hook and King Ben, but living with Evie really brought out Mal's feelings for her, and Mal thought that Evie had feelings for her, too. "Not you too, Evie", said Mal, sadly. Mal picked up her bag, closing it, then put it on her shoulder as she walked out of the room, tears in her eyes.
"Mal! Wait!", called Evie, but it was no use. Mal had started running as soon as she hit the hall.

Mal made her way to the outskirts of Auradon. She thought of going back to the isle, but decided against it, as her mother was not someone she wanted to deal with right now.  Her great aunt Baba Yaga lived in the forests of the next kingdom, and Mal decided she would head there.
Deep into the forest she drove, her little scooter loudly gunning. Mal drove into the next kingdom, her heart racing wildly. She came upon the chicken-feeted hut of Baba Yaga and made her way to the door. As Mal knocked, the hut's chicken feet began to stir, and the hut rose in the air, the feet standing straight up. Mal backed away, watching in amazement as the hut began to walk towards her.
"Baba Yaga! Baba Yaga!", yelled Mal. "Its Mal, your great niece!"
The chicken feet came to a stop, and the hut settled down. The door flew open, and Mal entered, looking around. There, in front of a roaring fire was Baba Yaga, her hunch back and long, stringy hair revealing her hag nature. She slowly turned and looked at Mal. "Mallory Bertha!", she exclaimed. " Yes!", said Mal, hugging her. Baba Yaga cackled, showing a lone tooth in the front. "How's that dragon of a mother of yours? She never comes to see me, ever! Pishtosh! That Maleficent!", exclaimed Baba Yaga.
Mal asked Baba Yaga if she could stay with her for a few days after telling her of the whole drama with her mom, Ben, and everything. She needed time to get her herself sorted out. Being away from Auradon for a while would be good for her. "Spider egg cookies?", offered Baba Yaga. Mal smiled as she took one, taking a hearty bite.
