Feelings are like cavities.
Painful reminders of something sweet that was once there.
I guess you were too sweet because you left me
With a mouth full of cavities
And an empty heart.
Shoot me up with novacaine.
It can't numb this pain.
The needles and drills
Chip away at the
Memories that were left in your place.

Yes, silence has a sound.
A whisper growing loud.
Until the noise is a crowd
A wall that consumes and surrounds me,
Pulling me further and further down.
Like a toothache
Sharp and constant and slow.
Silence is the sound of heartbreak.
A melancholy minor chord played low.
My heart is now an ugly twisted thing
Held together by hot glue staples and string.
Something so broken,
Yet I can't seem to throw it away.
In a box under my bed,
I take it out when it rains.
I am afraid I will never know a life without a toothache.
