Chapter 2

Andrew's POV

I can hear my aunt greeting me now. Andrew! How are you? She'll ask in her too peppy voice. How the hell do you think I am? My parents just died two days ago. If the drunk driver who hit them wouldn't have died in the crash too, then I would kill him with my bare hands. Now I have to live with my only relative, Uncle Mark. He gives me the creeps. And his wife is just peppy on everything. "Let's go bury the cat! Come on guys! It'll be fun!" Just shut the hell up, lady.

I opened Uncle Mark's door sense it was unlocked. "Uncle Mark?" I called out.

I heard a scream and sobbing for a split second, then something shut, some shuffling, and then my uncle walked through the open kitchen into the living room where I was standing. A wild and panicked look swept across his eyes in half a second. Things like this just make me not want to live here. "What was that scream and crying?"

"Nothing. You're hearing things, boy." My uncle said with a straight face that wouldn't let any signs of emotion show through.

Maybe this place is haunted. Great.

"I have all my stuff in my truck, should I go get it?" I asked.

"Of course, Andrew, dear!" Aunt Jane said from behind me in the doorway. "How are you, hunney?" Oh, dear Lord. Please help me now.

I gave her a look that said to just shut it. She closed her mouth and crossed the room to her husband. She gave him a hug and placed a kiss on his cheek. Yuck. That'll be the day when I let some girl do that to me. The day when pigs fly and my parents come back to life. Until that never coming day, I'll stick to humping and dumping.

I walked outside to my red truck and grabbed my things over the side of the back. "Hi," the sound of a little girl's voice called from a couple yards over.

I set my bags on the ground next to me. "Hello," I chuckled seeing an eight year old girl laying on her stomach in the grass watching me.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"Andrew. What's yours?"

"Mommy said I'm not allowed to tell strangers any information. I'm actually not allowed to talk to any strangers. Or be in the front yard by myself. That's because my sister got kidnapped five years ago when I was three. We still don't know where she is. My daddy thinks she's dead and then my mommy tells him to shut up because Chelsea can still be alive but I know she is. I know she's alive and I know I'll see her again," the little girl rambled on but I caught every word. I felt terrible for her and her family. I'll have to ask Uncle Mark if he knows out anything about it. She really shouldn't be in the front yard by herself then. I don't want anything to happening to her. That would suck for the family and won't be any good for the little girl. I know how it feels to loose someone, let alone two.

"I'm really sorry that happened. I'll keep my eye out for her. Now you really should go inside and listen to your parents and not talk to strangers," I informed her.

"It's not your fault. Everyone in the neighborhood is really kind and they've been helping us as much as they can. I think I can trust you though. My name's Suzi."

"Well nice to meet you Suzi. I'm going to be living here," I pointed to my uncles house, "for now on so if you ever need anything..."

She gave me a big genuine smile. I love little kids. They're too naive to have the terrible things in the world ruin them. "Thank you Andy! I'm gonna call you Andy, is that okay? I'm going to go inside now. Bye! See you around! We can play Pretty Pretty Princesses together. That'll be so fun!" This kid can talk.

"You can call me that as long as I can call you Z'." I'm not so sure about that princess game... "Now go inside and don't come in the front yard by yourself again."

She ran across the yards and squeezed her tiny arms around my legs. She's pretty short and I'm 6'4" so she couldn't reach very far. I bent down and gave her a hug. "Bye Andy!" She called as she ran into her house.

I laughed. "Bye Z." She's such an adorable little girl.

After unpacking everything into my room on the first floor, I sat at the kitchen table as instructed by Aunt Jane. I'm glad I have a floor of privacy because they're room is on the second floor.

Aunt Jane placed a plate of very disgusting-looking food in front of me. I gave her a week smile. "Um, thanks..."

We ate in very awkward silence until I remembered my conversation with Z. "Do you guys know anything about that girl who got kidnapped five years ago a couple houses over?" My voice was a little too loud. Oh well.

Aunt Jane had a sad face but a very peppy voice as she said, "Oh, yes! It was very sad! That poor family. We've looked everywhere around town and other cities and states and we just can't find her. I feel terrible. She's probably dead or has been raped-"

"That's enough," Uncle Mark cut her off. That same wild and panicky look flashed across his eyes. What's his problem? "We will never speak of that-that..." My uncle visibly calmed himself down. "That tragedy again."

Chelsea's POV

"Do you guys know anything about that girl who got kidnapped five years ago a couple houses over?" I heard a deep male's voice ask. That voice sounds slightly familiar. Probably his family or a friend.

"I DO!!!" I screamed. I finally got the bleeding to stop. I couldn't hear any more of the conversation. "Can't anyone just find me...?" I whispered as the tears stained my face.
