Mystery - Prince Ben LS (Disney Descendants)

Chapter 9: The Game

Scarlett's POV

I was at my locker next to Mal's and we were both waiting for the perfect time to give Ben the love spell, while Jay was flirting with a bunch of girls and talking about the game and Evie and Carlos were standing in the background waiting for their signal. "Bye Bennyboo." I hear Audrey say as she air kisses both of Ben's cheeks and walks away.

"Good luck." Mal says patting my shoulder as she leaves, while I take the cookie out of my locker and walk over to Ben.

"Hey Bennyboo." I say as he turns around with a smile on his face.

"Hey." He says right back.

"I made a batch of cookies last night. Double chocolate chip, do you want one?" I ask smiling up at him.

"Oh, I, uh, I've got a big game. I don't really eat before a big game. But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time." He say as he starts to walk to the boys locker room to get ready. 'Quick Scarlett think!' 

"No, yeah. I completely understand. Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains." I say acting very sad.

"No, no, no." Ben says quickly.

"No, I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that." I say trying to make him feel even worse.

 "No, that's not it. No, no, no, I....I really do..." Ben says trying to make me understand.

"No, I get it. You're cautious. That's smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess." I say as I took the cookie out of the bag and slowly brought it to my mouth as if i was going to take a bite.

"No, no. Hey...see that?" Ben says as he takes the cookie out of my hand and taking a big bite out of it. "Totally trust you. Totally." I think the love spell is starting to work.

"How is it?" I ask him as I take the cookie out of his hand as he was about to take another bite.

"They're good. They're great! They're amazing! They're, uh...I mean, they're chewy and, and you know, they...is that walnuts? I love walnuts. I mean, uh, you know, the...The chocolate...The...the chocolate...The chocolate chips are...I'm sorry. Um...Uh, they're...They're warm and soft. ANd they're sweet...Scarlett, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?" Ben says stumbling over his words. The love spell totally worked. The gang takes that as there que and starts walking over to me and Ben.

"How you feeling, bro?" Jay asks swinging an arm around his shoulder. 

"I feel...I feel...I feel like...Like singing your name. Scarlett! Scarlett!" He shouts and I quickly toss the cookie to Mal and cover his Ben's mouth to stop him from saying my name. All while trying to cover up the blush forming on my cheeks.

~ Tourney Game ~

I was sitting in the bleachers with Mal and Evie watching the game and Lonnie was sitting with us. I'm in the middle between Mal and Evie and Lonnie was sitting beside Evie. We watch Carlos and Jay jog onto the tourney field  and everyone cheered. We were nearing the last couple minutes of the game and the scores were very close when Jay passes the ball to Ben. "He passes to prince Ben. And he scores! Prince Ben has won it! What an unselfish play by Jay! What a team! Incredible! And it's the new guys, Jay and Carlos, who set up the prince for the win. What a victory! An absolutely wonderful end to one of the best games ever. Here they come, folks The winners of the first tourn..." The announcer announces until the microphone is taken away by Ben. 

"Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention please? There is something that I'd like to say" Ben says and all the cheering goes silent. 'What the heck is he doing?'  "Give me an "S"!" He shouts.

"S!"

"Give me an "C"!" When Audrey catches on to what Ben is doing she screams and storms off the field to god knows where.

"C!"

"Give me an "A!"

"A!" 

"Give me an "R"!"

"R!"

"Give me an "L"!"

"L!"

"Give me an "E"!"

"E!"

"Give me a double "T"!"

"T!"

"T!" 

"What does that spell?" He asks looking directly at me as my eyes widen. 'Oh God'

"Scarlett!" Everyone yells looking at me.

"Come on, I can't hear you!" He shouts giving me a cheeky smile.

"Scarlett!" They shout again as I blush in complete embarrassment.

"I love you, Scarlett! Did I mention that? Oh...Give me a beat! Whoo!" Ben shouts out to the band.

"Uno, dos, tres, quatro!" Doug shouts as everyone starts to cheer and shout.

"Oh my god." Evie says laughing.

"What was in that cookie." I ask theoretically looking at Mal and Evie, they both shrug and start to dance with the crowd.To make everything worse been starts to sing. 

Somewhere in the middle of the song Ben tosses me his jersey. How it got to me is a mystery but when he got crowd surfed up to me and tried to kiss me I held the jersey in front of my face, Ben just shrugs his shoulder and throws his arm around my shoulder. And let me tell you he is sweaty. "I love you Scarlett, did I mention that?" Ben says but before I can say anything Audrey storms up with Chad and takes the microphone from Ben.

"Chad's my boyfriend now! And I'm going to the coronation with him. So I don't need your pity date!" Audrey says and kisses Chad and I see Evie looking heartbroken out of the corner of my eye, so I send her an encouraging smile. And Ben looks like it didn't faze him in the least.

"Scarlett! Will you go to the coronation with me?" Ben asked looking at me with a hopeful smile on his face after he took the microphone back.

"Yes!" I shout into the mic making my friend smile. Our plan worked.

"She said yes!" Ben shouts happily making everyone cheer. Then Jay comes up and grabs Ben's arm.

"Let's go, Ben. The whole team's waiting for you." Jay tells him dragging him down to the field.

"Bye! Whoo!" I shout as they walk away. I look over at Evie and then down at Audrey and Chad, and sigh and look over at Mal and she nods saying that we are thinking the same thing.

"You know, I feel really sorry for Audrey." I say to Evie and she looks over at me.

"You do?" She asks.

"Yeah." I say nodding my head.

"We feel like if she were talented like you, and she knew how to sew and knew beauty tips, that she wouldn't need a prince to make her feel better about herself." Mal says motioning to me and her.

"I guess I am kind of talented." Evie says looking happier than she did a couple of minutes ago.  

"You are definitely gifted." I tell her with a smile.

"Thanks Scarlett, thanks Mal." She says and we all laugh and do a group hug.
