I sat in the carriage with Ben, today is his coronation and I'm really nervous. I keep going over the plan in my head. Grab the wand as fairy godmother is blessing Ben, open the magic barrier to let the villains free. Give Ben the anti-love spell and take over Auradon. Easy peasy right? Yeah well it's not my head is telling me to steal the wand and make my proud but my heart is telling me not to.
"Oh, and here comes Ben now." Snow White says as we ride past her as she reads off that Evie made my dress. I look down at the blue box sitting on my lab that has the cupcake that will undo Ben's love spell and I can't help but feel a little sad.
"Don't be nervous. All you have to do is sit there and look beautiful. No problem there." He tells me with a loving smile as he holds my hand.
"Thank you." I tell him as I send him a small smile. I really am going to miss him.
"Scarlett, would you wear my ring?" Ben asks me as he takes off his family ring with his family crest (Auradon Crest) on it.
"Um... not now. I think it would probably just fall right off of me." I tell because he doesn't actually love me and here he is trying to get me to wear something that connects me to him and is important to him. "I have something for you." I tell him showing him the box.
"For me?" He asks.
"Yeah. It's just for later, you know, when you need strength. Some carbs to keep up your energy." I say and hand him the box with the cupcake.
"Always thinking. But I can't wait." He say and takes out the cupcake.
"No!" I shout but it was too late he had already taken a bite.
"Mm! This is really good." He tells me.
"Uh, do you..." I trail off a little unsure of what to say I mean the love potion worked right away, why isn't the anti-love potion.
"Scarlett?" He asks.
"Do you feel okay?" I ask wondering if it works. Maybe I did something wrong on the spell.
"You bet." He tells me with a smile.
"Would you say that you're still in...that...that you have very strong feelings for me?" I ask him trying to steer clear of the word love.
"I'm not sure. I mean, let's give the anti-love potion a few minutes to take effect." He tells me and I not.
"Yeah...Okay." I say as I look over at the crowd before I realize what Ben just said 'let's give the anti-love potion a few minutes to take effect.' "Wait! What!? You knew?" I ask him, internally freaking out.
"That you spelled me? Yeah. Yeah, I knew." He said smiling at me.
"I'm... I can explain myself." I tell him.
"No, look, it's fine. I mean, you had a crush on me. I was with Audrey. You didn't thrust that it could happen on its own. Am I right?" He asked me. And I sigh out in relief. That's better than what I could have come up with.
"Yes. You're so right. So, then, how long have you known?" I ask him.
"Since our first date. Your spell washed away in the enchanted lake." He explains. And I can't help but feel saddened at that fact.
"So then what? You've just been...Faking it since then?" I asked him, but he doesn't answer me he just takes of his ring and places it on my finger and kisses my hand affectionately.
"I haven't been faking anything." He says looking at me with love in his eyes. The carriage stopped and Ben and a guard helped me out. Ben and I walk up the stairs hand in hand, where his parents are standing. When we got to his parents, I bow to Queen Belle and she sent me a smile and King Adam some over to me with Ben.
"About the other day, I just..." I try to explain to King Adam but he stops me.
"I told Ben this wasn't going to be easy." King Adam tells me.
"You also taught me that a king has to believe in himself. Even when it isn't easy." Ben says standing up for me.
"I did? I...ho very wise of me." King Adam says.
"Ben, we are very proud of you. You keep listening to your heart." Queen tells him.
"Thanks, mom." Ben tells his mom while hugging her.
"You're gonna make a fine king." King Adam tells Ben and walks away with Queen Belle, and Ben came up to me.
"Wish me luck." Ben says and I smile and kiss his cheek before taking the guards hand so he can escort me to where I will be standing for the ceremony. Once I got there I looked up at my friends and they all gave me encouraging smiles but I can also tell that they are also having second thoughts about the plan. But before I can think about it further Ben walks in and I smile and bow when he walks past me and up to FG and his parents.
FG places the crown on Ben's head and lifts the case to get the wand. I look up at Evie, Jay, Mal and Carlos and look back over at the wand. "Do you solemnly swear to govern the people of Auradon with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?" FG asks Ben.
"I so solemnly swear." He says.
"Then it is my honour and my joy to bless our new king." I was about to go up there and grab the wand but someone beat me to it. Jane.
