Chapter 10: Mary

Jude sat outside on the veranda swinging on the porch swing watching the sun go down. She had a fresh glass of Lemonade in hand,  humming too a Patsy Cline record playing softly from inside the house.  In her mind it was a perfect ending too a long day.  Shortly Lana came out and stood infront of her, Jude smiled up at her.

"It's getting cold out here.." Lana said slightly shivering.  Jude chuckled and moved over creating room for Lana to sit.  Lana laid her head on Jude's lap and curled up her feet up too her chest.   Jude ran her fingers through Lana's hair humming to the song playing.

"Sing louder..." Lana whispers with her eyes closed.   Jude smiled and raised her voice singing the lyrics.

Images of Jude's life singing in the clubs and having fun flashed through her mind.  Tears started to form in her eyes, not because she was sad but because she was finally happy.  She missed having fun like she used too,
but now she has a new purpose, thatsloving Lana.  And she was going too live it too it's fullest.  She sniffles and wipes away the stray tears on her face, Lana opened her eyes and looked up at Jude. When she saw Jude's tears she instantly sat up.

"What's wrong? Are you okay..." She started too panick. Jude looked over at her and nodded. She grabbed Lana's hand in between both hers and stared right into her eyes.

"I love you...I love you so much" Jude cried softly. Lana looked at her and smiled as tears started too form in her own eyes. She placed both her hands on the sides of Jude's face.

"And I love you soooo much!" Lana said before kissing her. It lingered for a minute then Jude pulled away. They both started laughing and decided on going back inside.

The Next Morning.

"I'm going out! I have a few errands too run!" Mary yelled from the door. Lana and Jude were still in bed. The exchanged looks then Jude yells back.

"Okay dear! Please be careful!"

Mary giggled then left the house. Jude looked over at Lana and raised an eyebrow.

"What?" Lana asked.

"I think she is seeing someone...." Jude said biting her finger nail. Lana chuckled leaning over too kiss Judes cheek.

"Always such a worry wart..." Lana whispered to herself loud enough for Jude too hear.  Jude slapped Lana playfully and the two of them laughed.

"And so what if she is...She deserves it..."  Lana said grabbing onto Judes hand so she would stop chewing her nail.  Jude gave her a side look and let out a sigh.

"I just....ughhhh..." Jude covered her face with her hands. "You...have softened me..." Jude said pointing her finger at Lana. Lana chuckled and nodded.

"Im glad I did....shit." She immediately covered her mouth.

"Am I gonna have to wash that mouth out with soap?" Jude asked smiling widely at Lana. She laid her head on Lana's chest and gathered the blankets up to her chin. Lana played with her hair and the 2 spent almost the whole day just laying in bed talking. Jude started to get worried around 7 o'clock when they hadn't heard from Mary all day. Jude finally got up and cleaned herself up a bit. She sat up on the couch watching tv and drinking tea.

A few hours Later

"Lana, What if something happened to her. She is so gullible and unaware..." Jude started to get hyped up as she paced around the living room. Lana walked over to her and wrapped her arms around Jude.

"Shhhh....I am sure she is fine darling..." Lana cooed holding onto Jude. She started too hear little sniffles she knew Jude started crying. Startled by the fromt door slamming Jude and Lana both jumped and looked toward the noise. Mary stood with tasseled hair and makeup running down her face from crying. Jude broke away from Lana and quickly walked up to Mary. She stood infront of the frail girl and put both her hands on her shoulders looking her over. Mary let out a loud sob and smashed her bosy into Judes hugging around her waist tightly. Jude stumbled back a bit before regaining her stance and holding Mary as tightly as she could. At this point neither Jude or Lana knew what happened but it must have been somthing terrible for Mary to cry like this. Jude walked Mary down the hallway to her room, Lana followed but when she got too the door Jude looked at her and shook her head closing the door. Lana knew Mary needed too be alone with Mary so she didn't want to intrude.

After a few hours, Jude shuffled out of Mary's room and into her own. Lana was laying in bed reading a book, Jude looked at her and let out a loud sigh, She plopped herself down on the bed. Lana put down her book and rubbed Judes back comforting her.

"She's pregnant Lana..."
