Waiting for Never

Chapter 8: Safety

"Help me get her out..." Mary asked Lana as they pulled up to Jude's family cabin. The three of them decided on staying hidden until their disappearance died down. Jude had given Mary directions 2 days prior to the day.

Lana got out from the back and opened Jude's door. Mary walked around and stood behind her. The 2 woman carried her bridal style into the cabin. They looked for the biggest room with the biggest bed and softly placed Jude on the bed.

"She hit her head bad. There must be a first aid kit somewhere here, Im gonna have too stitch that up..." Mary said leaving the room. Jude was layin lifeless on the bed.

"Why...Why Jude....I can't lose you now. I love you...I love you so much..." Lana cried walking to the sode of the bed, she got on her knee's and grabbed Judes hand kissing it repeatedly.

"You can't leave me now, we got out! We're out. Now we can live together with out having too sneak around....I don't know what happened back at Briarcliff....I was convinced you didn't love me....But I know you do! Please stay with me...I wouldn't be able too live with myself Jude...." She finished putting her head down.

"I'm not dead yet..." Jude croaked. "But it sure feels like it..." She said lowly.

Lana's head shot up and she stared at Jude. She chuckled and kissed her lips.

"I'm so sorry...Jude..I am so so sorry..." she started too cry again. Jude weakly lifted her arm and placed her hand on Lana's cheek.

"I love you...." She said softly with her eyes closed. Lana smiled through her tears and nuzzled her cheek into Judes hand. Mary stood at the door almost in tears, what she just witnessed broke her heart, in a sweet way. These 2 went through everything just too be together. She slowly walked into the room holding all the medical supplies. Jude cracked one eye open.

"Whats all this..." She asked weakly.

"I need too stitch your head...it's bad..." She said slightly cringing. Jude shuttered.

"Get it done with...." She said gripping Lana's hand hard. Mary cleansed the needle and looped the thread. She wet a warn cloth and dabbed off the dry blood cleaning the area around the cut.

"Are you ready..." Mary asked shakily

"Mhmm.." Jude sighed.

Mart grabbed the needle and slowly lowered her hand closer too the wound. She stuck the needle deep into the skin, Jude let out a loud cry and but her lips hard. This process went on for 10 minutes. Until Mary was finally done, Jude was dripping in sweat and just hanging on to consciousness. Lana cried beside her, holding her hand throughout the whole thing. Lana softly dabbed the sweat ofd Jude's forehead.

"Thank you..." Jude whispered her eyes closed.

"Anything you need..." Lana said smiling down at Jude.

"Since you insisted, a glass of water would be nice..." Jude said smirking. Lana giggled.

"I'll be back in a minute.." She sais getting up off the ground and leaving the room. Mary walked in slowly and stood beside Jude's bed. Jude reached for her hand, she looked up at her.

"Thank you for helping me...I taught you well with needle and thred..." Jude said Making Mary laugh. She looked back down at Jude and tears starting to stream down her cheeks.
Jude choked up, she grabbed her arm.

"Come here..." Jude said holdin her arms open. Mary crawled onto the bed, layin her head on Jude's chest, wrapping one of her arms over the front of her waist. Jude rested her chin on the top of Mary's head stroking her hair every so often. She was the only motherly figure Mary had ever had. So what she had to go through tonight was probably terrifying.

"Sister..." Mary asked lifting her head too look at Jude.
"I just want...I want you too know....I was scared I almost lost you tonight....One of the scariest things that has ever happened to me. I wanted to say thank you, thank you for everything. If it weren't for you, I wiuld probably still be in the orphanage. You have been a mother too me my whole life....and I couldn't imagine my life without you in it...." Mary finished with tears in her eyes.

"It's been a long night...I think we all need some rest..." Lana interrupted walking into Jude's room. Mary nodded her head and got up off Jude. She leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Goodnight...." She said quietly before walking out. Lana handed Jude the glass of water.

"Thank you." Jude said before chugging almost the whole glass. Lana giggled and sat on the bed beside Jude.

"You are going too have a nasty scar there..." Lana said running her fingers just under the stitched wound. Jude shooed her hand away.

"Atleast i'm alive..." She nearly whispered, exhaustion thick throughout her voice. Lana sighed deeply, she looked Jude over then got up.

"Goodnight Jude..." She said softly leaning down and placing a kiss on her forehead. She turned too walk away, but felt the familiar warm hand grasp hers.

"Sleep with me.." Jude asked pulling Lana weakly towards the bed.

"Okay.." Lana answered smiling. Jude slowly moved herself over creating enough room for Lana too sleep beside her. Lana carefully laid beside her, she placed her hand on Judes hip and buried her face in the crook of Judes neck.

"We are finally free my darling..." Jude's said softly kissing lana's forehead. With that the 2 women fell asleep safe, well...atleast for now.
