2nd POV

The moon shines brightly, illuminating the forest ground through the leaves, creating a speckled pattern on the ground. The sun sits just below the horizon. Pink, purple, orange and a light shade of blue begins to paint the horizon.

Sting, Rogue, Yukino, You and the exceeds walk quietly through the forest. You lean on to Rogue with an arm around his shoulder, still exhausted from the fight. Rogue insisted that he carry you but you refused. You didn't want to look any weaker then you were.

Sting and Yukino walk behind you, carrying a sleeping Lector and Frosch. You hold Zalia with your free arm as she sleeps.

The town lights begin to come in to view as the group walks closer to the edge of the forest. The sound of fire crackling and footsteps resonates through your dragon ears, along with the smell of baked goods.

You inhale the scent and enjoy the warmth and taste of it. You feel yourself doze off but continue to refuse the sleep that desperately fights against your body. Your mind and body continue to fight against the darkness that seems to be luring you towards it.

As this happens, your foot gets stuck on a rock and your body begins to fall towards the ground. If it wasn't for your arm around Rogue's shoulders and his around your waist, you would be flat on the ground.

Rogue's arm tenses and his other immediately wraps around your body. He steps in front of you and uses his arms to hoist you up against him. You weakly lean against him, arms struggling to keep a hold of him.

"(Y/n)?" Rogue's voice seems to pull your mind away from the mental fight as your droopy (e/c) eyes meet his.

Without a second thought, Rogue lifts you into his arms. You quickly secure Zalia in your arm without waking her and groan at the dizziness the quick movement made to your head but soon recover.

You begin to open your mouth to protest, but Rogue beats you.

"Don't say that your fine because it's obvious that your exhausted." He looks at you with a fierce gaze. At least fierce enough to shut your mouth. "When are you going to realise that you can't keep pushing yourself?"

You sigh and lean your head on his shoulder. "I don't always push myself. Besides, I only do it because I have to."

Rogue was going to question your answer but received the answer himself and decided to keep quiet.

The group continues on the forest path. The town slowly taking form as you get closer.

"Please No! Not my children!" A desperate plea from what sounded like a concerned mother.

"I have a pretty good feeling of who it is." Sting states with a low growl.

"Yeah, so do I." You add as a whiff of metal and gun powder enters your nose. You groan and bury your head into Rogues chest. "And I am really not in any sort of mood to deal with them."

A hum of agreement resonates among the group as they continue to trek towards the town.

Sure enough, as you got closer and closer to the town, multiple men were rampaging through down. Knocking down market stalls and plants and anything that seemed to have somehow gotten in their way.

Of course the mercenary guild wouldn't leave forever, you all knew that. You just wished that they appeared at a later time.

It was obvious what they are after. Same thing that they were after before and almost same thing as every other mercenary guild. Money.
