The coach whistled as we walked onto the field. "Jay, Ben! Offense. Chad, you're defence." he shouted. "Taylor, you're the shooter." I put on my helmet. "Ready to lose, Pevensie?" James asked, walking towards me. "Didn't think so, Frosty." I fired back. "Who's that?" he asked, pointing at Carlos who was wandering around the kill zone. "He's one of the new guys." I explained. "Katherina, James! This isn't the time for chitchatting. Get to your team!" the coach yelled at us. "What position?" I asked him. "You're backup offense! James, defence!" he shouted. "Got it, coach!" I replied, walking towards the yellow team. The sound of a whistle rang through the air and Ben caught the ball. He passed it to Jay, who caught it. I ran towards him, letting out a battle cry. I ran right into the kill zone, dodging the disks which were shot at me as I picked up the ball. I crashed into James and I pushed him aside without a problem. Then Jay came towards me, who roughly thumped me out of the way. I fell onto the grass, my helmet knocked off my head. I looked at Jay, who was running through the kill zone like it was nothing.
He then ran towards Carlos, who fell to the ground screaming. He pushed away another one of his teammates and scored a goal. He went to attack the keeper, who ran away. Jay threw down his stuff and let out a loud scream of excitement. "You! Get over here!" the coach yelled, pointing at Jay. "Are you okay, princess?" Chad asked, holding out his hand. "I'm fine, thanks." I replied, smacking his hand away. I got up and walked towards Carlos and Ben. "...come find me later and I'll show you something you haven't seen before. It's called a rule book. Welcome to the team, son." the coach announced. He then looked over to Carlos.
"You ever thought about band?" he asked. Jay laughed at him while Carlos shot coach a sarcastic smile. "I'll work with him, coach." Ben offered. "You need to prepare for your coronation, son." the coach told Ben. "I'll help." I stated. "Alright. But no magic!" he said, pointing at me. "Got it, coach." I replied. "Let's run that again!" coach exclaimed, sending us back to the field.
-AFTER TOURNEY TRAINING-
"Kathy! We have a problem!" I heard someone shout. I spun around and saw Hiccup running towards me. "What is it?" I asked. "I sort of lost Mal and Evie..." he muttered. "You know what? Just leave them. They know their way around by now. Let it go." I replied. "But Fairy Godmother said-" "Fairy Godmother says a lot of things. I mean, she told me I was one of the best students." I said with a laugh. "You are." Hiccup said. "Hiccup, I'm failing maths, physics and sewing class." I told him. "I guess you're right." he laughed "Kathy!" Ben yelled. "Ben, what can I help you with?" I asked him. "You promised to help with Carlos's training, remember?" "That's now?!" I questioned. "Yeah, I texted you the details." he said. "I didn't check my phone yet. Anyways, I'm coming. Bye Hic!" "Bye Kath!" he yelled back.
"Now that Kathy is here, we can start." Ben said. I shot Carlos a sympathetic smile. "Okay. Carlos, we're gonna do some sprints. You ready?" he asked the white-haired boy. Carlos nodded. Before ben could even start his stopwatch, Carlos was already running for his dear life. I saw Dude following him. Ben stopped the stopwatch but Carlos didn't stop running. "Oh, Aslan." I muttered, running after Carlos.
I saw him climb up a tree while Dude barked at him. "Kathy? Kathy! Please help me!" he shouted, looking very frightened. I ushered Dude away from Carlos. "This thing is a killer! It's gonna hunt me down and rip out my throat!" he yelled, pointing at Dude. I picked up the small dog, hugging it close to my body. "This is a vicious, rabid, pack animal!" he finished, clinging onto the tree. "Who in Aslan's name told you all that nonsense?" I asked him, petting Dude. "My mother." Carlos stated. "You mean Cruella? The white-haired dog killer?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow. "She's a dog expert. Not a killer." he replied. I let out a small laugh. "Why are you holding him! He's gonna attack you!" he shouted in concern, hugging the tree again. "And my father will learn how to control his temper. Look, Carlos, have you ever seen a dog in real life?" I asked him, scratching Dude's ear. "Of course not." he whimpered, staring at me.
"Well then, mister De Vil, meet Dude. Dude, meet Carlos. He's the campus mutt." I said, introducing the dog to Carlos. "He doesn't look like a vicious, rabid, pack animal." Carlos muttered, slowly coming down. "Because he's not. He's a good boy. Aren't you, Dude?" I explained, kissing the dog's head. "Jeez, You are a good boy, aren't you?" Carlos said, reaching out to pet Dude's head. The dog whimpered, craving attention. I handed Dude to Carlos, smiling at the two as they began to bond. "You're a good boy." he repeated. Carlos laughed, holding Dude close.
"You guys must be having a rough time on the isle." I breathed out, looking at the white-haired boy with sympathy. "Yeah, well, let's just say we don't get a lot of belly rubs." he said in a sad tone. "Thank Aslan Ben brought you here. You guys deserve so much more than some people here." I whispered, petting Dude gently. "On the bright side, you're a great runner. I think we'll find you a spot on the team." I added. "Thanks." he stated, smiling at me. "Now, I'll leave you here with Dude, so that you guys can work on your relationship." I said, ruffling his hair. "Bye Kathy...and thank you." he replied. "Not a bother, just go and find Ben when you're done, alright?" I questioned, walking away. "Yeah. Bye!" he shouted, sitting down. "Goodbye!" I yelled back.
"Hey Ben!" I exclaimed, running back to the Tourney field. Ben looked very confused. "What just happened?" he asked me, staring at the woods. "Well, Carlos was very frightened of Dude, because his cray-cray mother, Cruella, told him that dogs were killers. I had to explain to him that dogs are actually nice and loyal creatures and now he's cuddling with Dude in the forest." I stated, looking him in the eye. "Are you kidding me?" he asked in a serious tone. "Hmmm, I'm afraid not. I must be off, though. I promised Mal to help her with her homework." I lied. "Why are you lying to me?" Ben asked in an unamused tone. "Because I haven't started my essay on queenly etiquettes yet and I have to finish it by tomorrow...so...Bye!" I said, before running off so that Ben couldn't catch me. "Kathy!" I hear him shout, but I was already near the castle doors.
