Some people just need to walk out of our lives not for the reason that they wanted to inflict pain in our hearts or to leave us just because they wanted to. They leave for us to understand certain matters that we didn't mind clarifying when we were still with that person. Somehow, the idea of someone leaving us, especially if that person had played a big role in our lives, can be very painful and sometimes, leaves us broken, creating that void inside of us. We might ask so many questions which leads to confusion.
We might say that life's unfair. We might put hatred in our hearts. We might shut our doors to everyone. We might pity ourselves for the misery that we are in. Despite these unbearable circumstances, we must understand that life will not always be what most storybooks offer us when we were kids. Life will not always be about happy endings. That will be too perfect for us to handle and we all know that none of us here on earth can ever be perfect.
We must understand that life will not always give us the things that we wanted. As one author wrote, "Life rarely goes according to plan". We can't have it all.
We can't always feel fine. Our lives will not always be on the "up" side. We must experience the pain for us to feel better. No matter how it hurts, keep in mind that this can't go on forever. It might take a lot of courage and strength for us to bear with it but eventually, all of it will soon be gone. Then we'll realize just how strong we have been despite the unimagnable occurrence that happened to us.
So for that one who left, forgive him/her. Let go of the hatred that you have buried deep in your heart and learn to forgive. Be thankful even more because if not for what he/she did, you would not see the things that matters most in your life. You would not appreciate the people who still love you and still there by your side. You would not be able to count your blessings and be grateful for them. Instead of cursing the circumstance, think of it as a blessing in disguise because you know that from that point, you learned something - a wisdom that will always be kept in memory.
Last and definitely not the least, forgive yourself. Stop blaming yourself because nobody is really blaming you In this kind of situation, you should be loving yourself more. Accept the fact being faced to you and from there, you get up and be a better person. That's the greatest gift you'll ever give yourself.
