"You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've happened... or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on." ― Tupac Shakur

My fingers tapped lightly against the desk next to my AP World History textbook as I waited patiently for the bell to ring. I watched the clock above the chalk board intensely.

"Ms. Heights!" I adverted my eyes to Mr. George and rolled my eyes.

"What?" I snapped.

"I would like to see you after to cla--" The bell rang and I happily jumped up out my seat with a wide smile. I gathered my books and damn near ran out of class. I didn't bothered to stay after class like Mr. George was going to ask.

My cracked phone rang and it was an unknown number. I slid the green button and placed the phone to my ear while, stuffing my bag with my journal and books for over the weekend.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hello, is this Sage Heights?" A unfamiliar, sweet voice on the other line questioned.

"Uh, yeah, this is she." A confused look rose on my face.

"I'm Shellie fro--" She was the manger from Mc Donald's.

"Oooh! I remember you!"

A giggled escaped her mouth. "Yes! You applied for a job here as a cashier. And I'll be happy to say you got the job! You start on Monday at 3pm-10pm, if that's okay with you?"

I damn near tripped over my own two feet. Those four words lingered around my mind. You got the job. Finally after all those jobs I applied for I got one. I was about to start making my own money and not depend on Amour's mom anymore.

"Yes, it's cool wit' me! I mean yes it's okay with me."

"Okay then," In the background you can hear her clap her hands together. "It's settled! I can't wait to work with you!"

I smiled, "Thank you so much!"

"No problem." I hung the phone up and tweaked in the middle of the sidewalk. My happy twerk got a few galances from strangers but Ion give a flying fuck. I needed a job and I got one. Step one has just gotten accomplished.

The mall was packed as I walked around a bit. A hundred dollar bill was in my sweat pants pockets as I patted myself down just in case I had dropped it while walking around. The crispy sound of the money had me sure it was still there.

The small bag filled with: lotion, perfume, and body wash from Bath & Body Works was in my hand, swinging back and forth. I needed a couple of things before heading home and I thought I would stop by the mall. It was packed since it was a Friday so people would be out shopping especially durning the evening.

I abruptly stopped walking right in front of Sprint, as I walked in. I needed a new phone and I might as well check what they have out. The Galaxy 4s caught my eye and I walked over to the stand and looked through the glass case. There was one in silver, black and purple. The purple was pretty and fitted me well.

A older looking lady tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around. "How may I help you?" She asked.

"Uh, yes," I squinted my eyes and looked at her name tag. "Rachel, how much is this?" I pointed towards the phone.
