Chapter 28: The Crying Game

Here we go again, it's the game we love
Sheets all over the floor and they laced with drugs
You ain't play your cards right, you had the Ace of Clubs
Hit you with the Ace of Spade, in your face, and shrugged
Blood drippin' out your arm on my Asian rugs
We was just planning a wedding, caught cagin' doves
You was just tellin' your mans, that you hate the clubs
Now we in the crying game, heart laced with slugs

Are you alone? Do you need someone?
Is it too late to talk? Did I wait too long?
Thousand words don't change a thing
Is it only three? Three words that you're missing?

Where did you go? Couldn't see
I was too busy
Could've just said no
Where would you go? I think I know

Everyone's eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing. Cali and Rich stood right there in front of them. Its been so long since they had seen them, it almost felt unreal. Cali's eyes began to water at the sight of her children.

Although they weren't earl her children, she claim them as her own. She looked around at the shock faces of her children as her eyes landed upon Daniel also known as D. Her youngest child. She haven't seen him since he was a toddler.

Anger began to take over her at the fact of missing years of her children's life which she blames herself for. She couldn't get over what had happened in the past. She felt as if she had screwed up and that karma was biting her in the ass.

But she soon got over it once she saw how grown her kids were starting to become.

Rich held his composure and fight back his tears that he wanted to let go. He only had three children, and they were all boys.

"Pops?" X, asks in shock.

"My boys, look at yall!" Rich exclaims.

"Daddy!" Marilyn shouts in excitement.

Rich breaks his gaze from his boys to Marilyn. Marilyn assumes that Rich is her father. Although he isn't he doesn't mind being a father to her since she never knew her biological father, who is dead.

The last time Rich had saw Marilyn was when she was just a couple of months old, along with the occuations visits. It seems as if time has flew by especially by how big Marilyn was and is growing.

Marilyn leaps up out her seat, jumping right into Rich's arms as Rich spins her around.

"Look at you! Grown so big!"

Marilyn tears up. "I missed you so so so much!" She exclaims, emhpazing the word so. "You finally get to come home!"

"I know babygirl, I hope you haven't been giving your grandmother a hard time." He says in a playful, stern voice.

Marilyn laughs. "Of course, always."

Marilyn turns facing Cali who was watching Rich and Marilyn as an extra, big smiles forms on her face. Rich puts down Marilyn as she runs over towards Cali.

Same thing goes for Cali. Marilyn doesn't even know her biological mother, since she is dead. The only mother Marilyn knows is her grandmother and Cali. In her eyes, they were her mother. Although Cali can never replace Mariah, Marilyn and Genesis's mother, she would try her best to be the best mother figure she could be.

"Ahhh," Cali coos. "My Marilyn Monroe has gotten so big and so beautiful!"

"Ma! You look so pretty!"

Cali chuckles. "You know it runs in the blood."

Marilyn nods, while Daniel, X, and Lion stood to their feet. If anything all three of them couldn't deny the fact that they truly missed their parents.
