When Peridot arrived at Steven's Garnet took a look at the gemling, afterwards Pearl handed Peridot a bottle filled with formula and taught her how to properly feed a baby, peridot got the hang of it pretty quickly and was left alone so that the gems could talk. Peridot watched the gemling suckle on the bottle it made her feel something strange, this wasn't a bad feel but it was indeed a strange one. Time pasted and the small gemling had fallen asleep wrapped up in a small cookie cat blanket that Steven gave her.
The gems had talked for what seemed like hours, Peridot had told them where she found malachite and how she found her. The gems came to the conclusion that Lapis had given birth to the telling and had abandoned her soon after. Peridot couldn't believe the her friend would do such a thing but that wasn't important right, they had to figure out what to do with the baby gem, Pearl suggested bubbling it but garnet said no very quickly.
"Peri could raise the lil thing" Amethyst said "Oh no I couldn't raise it! I'd a terrible-" it took Peridot a moment to think "Mother! Yeah that's the world" the yelling woke the young gem up and she began crying "Oh no I apologize" Peridot tried to calm the gemling down and to her surprise it worked.
"See? You'd make a great momma" Amethyst put a hand on peridot's shoulder, Maybe being a mother would be so bad Peridot thought.
