Chapter 21:

I am walking through the woods and I have the full moon beam down on me. The dark sky feels safe as it watches over me. I look around me and all I see are trees and grass.

The problem is that it is too quiet for my liking. I walk through the woods and come upon a mirror that stands before me. It is between two trees and has branches surrounding it.

I walk forward as I see myself staring right back at me. As I look closer the me in the mirror starts to smile. I lift my hand to see if I was smiling myself and I am not. What is this? A reflection of what I can be or a reflection of what I already am?

I see a guy coming up behind me in the mirror and I turn around to see who it was, but no one was there. I turn back to the mirror and saw the guy come in clear view. It was Hunter, I turn my head quick, but no one was behind me.

I look at myself again through the mirror and could the me in the mirror smiling up at him. He wraps his arms around me and both looked at each other before turning their attention back to me. I almost jumped out of my skin.

The couple looked at me with light green eyes and when they smirked at me, I could see a canine tooth trying to peek out of their mouth. My eyes went wide, their eyes remind me of wolf and I feel myself getting scared. I tried to move away or even back up but I couldn't.

I looked down at my feet and realized that I was stuck. Apparently, I was so entranced by the mirror, that I did not see that I stepped into water and now the branches from the tree grabbed onto my foot.

"What's wrong, can't move" something said mockingly.

I looked up towards the mirror and realize that it was me speaking.

"Why won't accept the fact that we belong together? Why do run from something that you know you can't? I will not allow you to give up on him? He is ours. Do you hear me? OURS. Face reality, this is something that you cannot just run from. This was going to happen one way or another" Mirror me said viciously to me.

I am confused, I looked down at my feet and I do not know what to say or do at this very moment. I look back up to mirror me.

Her eyes went soft and is now pleading me to true to myself and my feelings.

"He has another chick, and I am not going to fall head over heels for a guy that is already taken. I won't be his side chick that he goes to occasionally. I can't look at him knowing he is dating some tramp and that his warmth that surrounds me when he hugs me or kisses me or even just standing by me is being shared by this woman. I can't and I won't do that" I said back to her.

I look to the mirror and see that she felt the same way slightly.

"You already are head over heels for this guy and you know it. But, we must fight for him and not give up. What happen to the girl that was determined to do anything if someone tried to mess with what is ours. What happened to that bold leader that protect its own? What happened to that women who strikes fear into her enemies? We cannot stop fighting or give up. It is just not in our nature to do so. So, chin up and march forward and do not let anyone or anything stand in the way of what you want to accomplish" mirror me said with a glare in her eye.

I honestly smirked and then became angry for how stupidly I was acting and for a moment cannot believe I lost myself.

I am more resilient than most. I looked at mirror me and smiled.

I know that this is not a dream and the person in the mirror is more than just a person, but a being that I do not know of what. But she is me and the more aggressive type.

The feel of the power that was in her voice felt good to hear and I want it. I know that she will reveal herself when the time is right and I know I am not ready to figure out who she really is right now.

But, I am grateful for words of wisdom and for someone to knock some sense into me. Even though it was not just someone, or anyone it was me.

I look back at the mirror and saw myself smile a bit. I realize this is me and I need to start acting like it.

The scene changed again and I was shown a woman sitting in a chair rocking a baby in her arms I looked closer and realized that the baby is me.

I was not able to get a good look at the women.

But, she was saying something to me.

"My little Alex, you are going to be so strong in the future. There is going to be so many obstacles in your way. But, you must be brave, for your life and anyone you hold dear might or will be in danger. I am going to tell you this once and only this once. Your lineage is something that will make you a target on your head and your father is one of them. You will be stronger if you meet your mate before the time comes. Never forget who you are, never forget the wolf blood that flows through your veins utilize it and become stronger than anyone has ever seen" the women said with such resilience and softness in her voice.

Then time moved forward and shown a different time when the women and I were playing in the background.

We were chasing each other. Then we went inside for something to eat.

I smiled seeing this. I wonder if this woman could be my mother. I looked down at my younger self before looking back up to the women that was raising me.

To only find she is staring right back at me.

"Never forget" she said to me softly with a smile on her face. I think, but before I could look any further, my eyes opened.
