It had been a few hours since Robin had seen Danny so he decided to go check on him and see if he wanted dinner. Robin knocked on the door directly across from his and waited, but the longer he waited the more worried he got. Finally Dick decided to just open the door.
Sticking his head in Robin got a bad feeling. He stepped fully in the room and called Danny's name a few times. Looking around again more carefully he found a pile of envelopes on Danny's bed, each had a name on it. Robin picked them up and found the one with his name writen on the front.
Without hesitation he ripped the envelope open, not caring about how bad the tear was, and pulled the lined notebook paper out. He unfolded the paper in a hurry and skimmed through the text on it. After he finished it once he had to go back and reread it because he had to make sure he read it right.
Robin,
I'm so sorry. I don't know what else to say. I know that you will probably beat yourself up for this but before I say... or write anything else you should know this has nothing to do with you and everything to do with me and my past. This is all my fault. I put you and the other Titans in to danger because I was stupid and thought I could have a family. I thought that Jack and Maddie would leave me be but I was wrong. So, I have to leave and I'm not coming back. This letter is to say goodbye and my last few thoughts about you.
You have been like a big brother to me and I just wanted to say thank you for everything. You have helped me to be strong and get through some pretty hard stuff. I feel you deserve to know something about me though. When I was young, as you know, I was adopted. I came from the circus, but what you don't know is my parents died in a trapeze accident just like yours. I found this out shortly after Jack and Maddie told me I was adopted. I just thought you should know that we were more alike then either of us though and maybe you could remember me through it and come to peace with your past.
One last thing. Please don't come looking for me. I know no matter what I say you will try but just know you won't find me. The GIW will make me untraceable and you won't be able to find me so please don't even try. You will only end up hurting yourself or the team.
Good-bye Robin, and thank you.-Danny Phantom
Danny had left and wasn't coming back? Slowly Robin sat down on the bed his head spinning with questions and no answers.
Eventually the rest of the Titans came to find Robin and found him sitting on Danny's bed totally oblivious to the rest of the world. They all read their letters saying what was going on and to watch out for Robin. All five of the Titans remained silent in the room for a long while.
Finally Robin spoke up with a small whisper.
"We need to find him. He can't be far..." He looked up to each of the Titans with hope hidden behind his mask.
"Robin..." Raven started only to be cut off by Robin's furious glare.
"We have to go now!" Robin practically screamed "we have to find him!" Robin threw his fist down on the bed sending the pillow at the head of the bed flying to the floor revealing another envelope already opened.
Robin looked to the letter then swiped it up in his hand. He ripped the letter from the envelope and read it aloud to the Titans.
"Dear Danny,
I hope you have liked all the friends we have sent you this last week. Don't worry, there are more and it will only get worse. Leave that team of yours and surrender to us or they will get hurt. You can meet us at the docks tomorrow at 9:30 pm. Oh and if you tell that precious little team you have twisted around you evil ectoplasmic finger about this we will have no choice but to... silence them too.
-Maddie"
"He's going to the docks!" Robin yelled and spun his head around to look at the digital clock sitting beside the bed. It read 9:28. "Titans GO!" He screamed and practically flew off the bed and out of the room. Nearly as fast as Robin the other four Titans in the room followed him down to the basement and piled in the T-car. They knew where he was going to be and when. Together the Titans were going to try and save the youngest teammate or die trying.
Cyborg put the pedal to the floorboard and got the Titans to the docks in less than 15 minutes. The car came to a skidding halt leaving long black skid marks on the small street leading to the warehouses.
The Titans jumped out of the car and took up battle stances ready to fight for Danny. When they looked around they saw Danny looking at them with a confliction of sadness and happiness filling his eyes. They realization hit him and all the happiness and sadness evaporated into anger.
"You guys have to go now!" Danny said calmly. That is when Robin noticed the young girl kneeling next to Jack and Maddie surrounded by men dressed in all white with sunglasses on. There where several guns pointed at her head.
"Danny, I am no leaving you. I can't lose you again, not when I just found out who you really are."
"What are you talking about Robin?" Danny said slowly letting his guard down slightly.
Robin smiled slightly and looked to Danny. "Danny, in your letter you told me how your parents died just like mine right? Well I've been thinking, what if it's not a coincidence they died the same way?"
"What are you saying Robin?" Danny said. All eyes where now on Robin as he took a deep breath and let his smile grow even bigger.
"Danny, I think... we are brothers."
