Lost Brother (part 2/3) ***COMPLETED***

Into the Dark

It had been twenty minutes since Sam, Tucker, and the four Titans entered the ghost zone. To the Titans the realm of the dead seemed like an endless void of green swirls and they were starting to get restless.

"Are we there yet?" Beast Boy whined for the millionth time.

"No! I will tell you when we are there and until then... STOP ASKING!" Sam screamed from the drivers seat. Tucker leaned over from the passenger seat and whispered to her, while Beast Boy moved to hide behind Starfire. The entire speeder was silent for the next five minutes until a large castle came into view. All of the Titans gawked at the marvelous spires and the large door blocked off by a large moat. Sam landed the speeder on a small island just outside the castle and opened the door. All six teens piled out of the specter speeder and stretched after the long ride.

"So why are we on a island in the middle of nowhere next to a giant castle?" Raven asked Sam, whom she had taken a small liking to. 

"That castle is Phantom's keep, aka Danny's castle. Tucker and I think he is locked up in there while he tries to finish off what's left of the good in him. The only thing we don't know is what he has planned." Sam answered. At that Tucker pulled out his PDA and began pulling up the blueprints.

"Now, Dan probably has some guards at every door except this one." He pointed to a small cave that seemed to be hidden under the castle.

"And what exactly are we going to do when we get in there? We can't just go barging in without a plan of attack." Cyborg pointed out.

"First of all we aren't attacking, Danny is still in there we just need to get through to him. Second of all, that hasn't seemed to stop us before so why fix something that's not broken?" Sam spit back. The rest of the group sat in silence waiting for something to happen after that. Finally Sam stood from the crouching position the group had taken to and began walking. 

The small group walked for several minutes until they had arrived at the small opening leading up into the castle. The tunnel was just barley big enough for Cyborg, the biggest titan, to fit through. It was also dark and damp with a very ominous feel to it.

"Okay, here it is." Sam called as she turned to face the Titans. "This tunnel will lead straight to my room in the castle and from there we will have to improvise and make our way to the throne room, that's where we think Dan would hold up."

"And what are we going to do then?" Raven questioned as her voice wavered with concern. She knew that these people used to be Danny's friends but Raven still had her doubts. If they were real friends where were they when Danny was cut open?

"We are going to talk to him." Sam gestured to herself and Tucker. "You will stay back and stay out of our way."

"That is my friend in there I am not going to just stand back!"

"And we are his friends who have dealt with this before! I don't care if your his best friend or not! We have known Danny his entire life while you were where again? Oh! That's right! You were off with your little gang fighting crime!" Sam yelled. She had had enough of this group. She turned her back to the shocked Titans and stomped off into the cave with Tucker following at her heels.

-----Time skip about 1 hour ish-------

The teens finished pulling Beast Boy out of the hidden trapdoor in the floor and closed it back up. The small group stood in a dark purple and black decorated room with lots of posters and pictures hung on the walls. Through the walls you could hear a faint laughter and a faint crying. The sound sent a small chill down Starfire's spine.

Slowly Tucker made eye contact with Sam and Raven then silently opened the door. He slipped his head out and then gave a small thumbs up to the group as he pushed the rest of his body through the small crack, followed by the rest.

The small group of seven made their way down the dark hallway of black obsidian with black tapestries and carpets.  Much had changes since the last time Sam and Tucker were there. The only color left in the darkness of the castle was the green glowing torches hanging from the walls.

The group came up to a small door that seemed to be half hidden. There was no noise combing from the other side. Sam hen never notice this door before and she knew the castle very well so she walked up to it and opened it ever so slightly. Inside was another bedroom.

Soon Raven burst past Sam and went to the bed where they found a sleeping Robin. Scarf that Robin was hurt Raven shook his shoulder and woke him up nearly getting herself hurt by Robins incredible reflexes.

Once he realized it was just his friends Robin became overjoyed. He hugged his teammates and began explains what happened to the worried friends. After a brief explanation and some more hugging the group set back out into the halls of the darkened castle.

As the kids walked down the large echoing halls the laughter and crying began to grow louder until they walked up to a large  wood door with small carvings in it. Half the door seemed to be painted a dark black and had pictures of people dying and burning. The other half was painted white and had people cheering, laughing. The thing that surprised all of them though was that the door was changing before their eyes. The black paint seemed to be spreading and taking over the happiness of the white, changing it into more of the dark suffering.

The noise was coming from the other side of the door. Robin suddenly burst forward and pushed the two large doors open to reveal two figures in the large throne room. One was much larger and muscular and sat on a black throne, flashing his fangs in the direction of the door.

The other figure was much small and thin. He was bent over on the floor next to the throne and seemed to be in a lot of pain as he was whimpering.

"Well, well look who has joined the party?" Dan said as he stood from the large black throne. "Now the fun can begin."

I'm just kidding. I haven't posted in so long you guys deserve more then that. Here you go.

"Now the fun can begin" Dan growled as an evil smirk creeped on his face, showing off his pointed fangs.

"Give me my brother back you evil no good stupid ba-"

"Tsk tsk. Now here I thought you would recognize your brother." Dan said as he bent over and yanked the small whimpering boy beside him to his feet. Standing there was Danny, covered in ectoplasm and blood and almost unable to stand.

"What did you do Dan?" Sam yelled as she pushed her way next to Robin, still shocked at this turn of events.

"Oh you mean him? He is a duplicate with my goody two shoes side's consciousness. I figured 'hey why not kill the last of his family and his friends in front of him' cause that might just be what breaks him. You know it wouldn't just break him, that would shatter him."

"I'd like to see you try." Robin whispered as he pulled out his bow staff and got ready to fight.

A/N: okay that is the real end. Sorry I haven't posted in so long guys I have been crazy busy with school and sports I kinda forgot to write and didn't have time to but here is the next chapter. I am not sure when the next one will be out but don't worry there will be a next one! This will NOT I repeat NOT be the end of this story. See you in the next one... whenever that is. BYE!!!!
