I'm afraid to wake up. If they know I'm conscious they might take me. I can't show any emotion. I can't even let a tiny tear down my face. They know. But I'm not sure if they know I know. If they know what they will do to me. That might be a risk I just have to take.
I open my eyes slowly. I'm still in my room. That's a relief. I get out of bed and get dressed. What if they knew I saw them and just said that so I would get scared. They did say they would do it first thing today. And they haven't taken me yet so I think I'm fine. Maybe I was overreacting. I get ready to go to school. I grab a banana and head out the door. The village looks normal so that's a plus. But I haven't seen Caspian like usual. He normally meets me here at this coconut tree and we continue to walk to school.
Since it's getting close to when school starts I had to leave without him. I got to school and no one was there. Not a single soul. I was wondering what to do and that was when I realized that what the village was going to do with me was still planned for this day. I tried leaving the school put all the doors were locked. Just then someone charged at me. I screamed and tried to run away. I fell in all the commotion and he grabbed my wrist. I tried to escape his grasp but it was too late. "Let me go!" I scream. "Sorry I can't do that." He laughed as he threw me on the wall. Cornered, I had nowhere to go. He grabbed the bag off the floor and all I saw after was darkness.
