I'm dead. There is no way I'm still alive. It's over, I thought to myself. I open my eyes and immediately winced at the light. I kept opening and closing them to get adjusted to the light. Once that's done, I try to sit up. Everything is in pain. I hear voices saying "She's up!" And "thank goodness I thought she was dead". Well, I guess I'm not dead. That's a plus. My eyes start to focus but I'm not sitting up yet. I'm breathing really heavy. It felt like I was being starved of air. "Don't worry! Everything is going to be fine!" Said a young woman. My eyes finally focused. "On the good side you didn't die from that jaguar attack!" She laughs and I nod."But you did pop your knee and broke your arm but it can be fixed in about a week" "About a week?" I choke. "Yes about a week". I thought to myself how that was possible. When I was younger I broke my leg and it didn't heal fully for about 18 weeks. "But first, lets pop this knee back into place." She gets an assistant and she places her hands on my knee and the assistant holds my hand.
" 1......2......3!"
I screamed in agony. It hurt so much I squeezed the assistant's hand so hard that she was losing circulation to her fingers. Tears were streaming down my face. "Now that your knee is done, let's start on the arm" "NO!" I scream. "But if we do it now then it will distract you from your knee" Her assistant runs off to go get something and the lady gets ready to do my arm. I'm not even sure if she qualifies as a doctor. The assistant comes back with a bunch of leaves, herbs, and some liquid. She grinds all the leaves and herbs together whispering something under her breath as she pours the liquid into the cup. "Here, drink this" she says. I grab the cup and look inside. It looks pretty normal so I gulp it down. It tastes horrible. As I gag I start getting drowsy and lay back into my bed and fall into a deep sleep.
