Grandma led me into her seaside bungalow, which was by far was the best part that happened since arriving at the island. On the inside, it looked a lot bigger than what was on the outside.
Grandma had wicked decorating skills! The ceiling had a layer of netting, the floor was made of driftwood looking palm wood, and the beds were large hammocks! She had the jaws of a Great White that she said tried to attack the village and she said she killed it before blood of the little ones rolled onto the shore. She fought with it but eventually, the shark gave in, and she got to keep the jaws of it. Sharks never came near since. It was a pretty interesting story, but I didn't really want to listen to it right now, because I was exhausted from the trip to the island.
"Where is my room grandma? I'm exhausted" I yawned. "Your room is right back here..." Her voice trailed off. "What is it?" I asked. "Nothing" she replied " Its just.... I'll tell you later." We weaved though all of Grandma's things. After what seems like going through a maze, we finally get to my room.
It's a pretty small area she has cleared out for me, and I can tell it used to be a room, because the walls of some kind of plant only go up halfway then it looks like the middle had been ripped out. It had a reminiscence of something being there, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I started unpacking my things. It was basically put everything out of the suitcase and into a random spot. As I opened my suitcase, a bunch of sand started pouring out.
"That's just great" I whined. I had a meh relationship with the sand. It has a nice feeling and look, but impossible to get rid of. I started thinking of ways to get the sand out of my room when Grandma called me from outside.
"Akela! Are you done unpacking? Come out here!" "Yeah almost!" I say. I dump the remaining things that are in my suitcase into a big pile, away from the sand and walked out of my room.
