charlie

turning on my camera, an anxious blow flowing over my body. i turn to miles, grabbing my phone from my lap, turning it on to open twitter.

"hey everybody!" my voice hallows into the boy's figure, scaring him from the abrupt silence we had been in since we had taken seats. "miles is back!"

"hey!" miles smiles sheepishly to my camera, looking at me with a dazed grin. i lowly bite my lip at the small shine on his face, holding back a large smile.

i quickly look back at the camera, looping onto the topic. "this is miles mckenna, he is an amazing youtuber and he is so encouraging, show him some love. the link in the description holds his twitter and instagram."

"we asked you guys on twitter to tweet us some truth or dares using the hashtag #marlie. and here are some!" miles looks at the camera, doing hand motions everywhere.

almost forgetting we're on camera, i let my eyes hang to him.

"question uno!" i rumble, looking to the male next to me for his laugh. "favorite physical trait?" i read off from the app. "miles has good eyes, they're really pretty."

i look at miles, waiting for his response. it didn't take as long as i thought it would've for him to answer. "i like charlie's hair. it's soft."

i playfully move my hair around my face, looking at miles with a grin. "question dos! prank call alexis g zall." he mocks my voice.

"your phone or mine?" i quesion, tucking my hair behind my ear. "i don't think it really matters. though. so, i'll use yours."

before he could protest on it, his phone was now in my hands as i dialed alexis' number. "hello?" i ask after hearing the usual ringing before it stopped.

"heyo!" alexis' voice was happy and cheery like always. miles began to shake his leg with anticipation as the call went slowly.

"hey babes, so, i was on youtube and i looked up your channel." i say, without a doubt failing at sounding serious. it was a flaw of mine.

"oh, is everything okay?" alexis asked, starting to sound a tad bit worried. i bite my lip once more, looking at the camera.

"actually, everything is deleted? i should be asking you if everything is okay." i hold in a laugh, making miles hit my arm lightly. rolling his eyes at me, he bites on his hand to keep his laugh down.

"oh no, are you serious?" alexis' voice dropped, she had always worked hard and was very grateful, it'd upset her if everything was gone. "can you refresh it? i don't know if you're kidding!"

she yells through the phone at me. miles and i began to laugh in fits "alexis, it's a joke! miles and i are making a video! i love you, i'm sorry!"

"that was pretty good, she seemed calm." miles looks at me, then back at twitter. i nod, slightly peeking over his shoulder and reading my eyes along comments.

"when did you guys meet?" miles read off his phone from the viewer's tweet. "we met at mac's place for a video. i think it was about last year."

"we filmed a video- like three years ago, with mac, and that's the first time we publicly let our friendship be known. but, we first met at playlist just months before mac's video."

the film was friend vs friend, who knew him better. miles obviously won in the end, but i didn't really mind much.

in my defense, they have known each other a lot longer.

miles and i search for more tweets as i stumble across a good one.
"ever liked another youtuber? spicy." i hum with a chuckle. "um, as some of my veiwers know, i dated alexis for awhile. we're just super close now."

miles and i share eye contact, making my breath stop. i wanted to apologize to him, but i stay silent as he looks away, answering.

"i used to date amy ordman." miles spoke while looking at me. "we broke up before I came out as trans to everyone, and was fully myself." the boy explains.

i felt as if we were truly knowing each other more, not even for the video anymore. mostly for one another, at this point. it was time to get caught up.

biting my inner cheek, i face back to his blue orbs, taking in each freckle on his cheeks. "don't stay in the dark, things get lighter once you're out."

i smile at miles, "okay, that was beautiful! subscribe to miles and check out their videos, they're very dank. but, also subscribe to me because i said so."

after ending the video, i take my camera from the tripod, placing it on the table in the room, looking over to the brunette boy.

"thanks for doing a video with me, what about yours? what's that one going to be about?" i question, replacing the chairs back at the table.

"what about doing a scary game tonight? you know, when its dark we can go to that abandoned house down the road? people always say its haunted." miles suggested nonchalantly.

i was very hesitant, but agreed to it. "okay, let's go get an ouija board from the store. but, you're driving." he picks up his keys, shaking them quickly.

miles grinned, showing the freckles scattered around his cheeks and nose.

"can i change real quick?" i look down at my fit, walking to my room. shutting my door, i toss on random jeans and a shirt, putting on my shoes hurrily.

i walked out to my livingroom, seeing miles scroll on his cell. he looks up and eyed me, "ready?"

nodding my head, i grasp my keys and my phone, he opens my front door. after locking my door, i hear the engine of his vehicle.

we get in miles' car, as he backed out of my drive way, he turned up his radio. "i fucking love this song!" my voice exclaims, as panic! at the disco plays.

"i know you do."

"okay, i'm at target with my good pal charlie. and we're looking for an ouija board for tonight." he placed the camera in my face, making my laugh vibrate.

"people are staring, weirdo!" miles puts the camera down, still recording, and talks to a staff member. "hurry up!"

"hi, do you sell any ouija boards?" he asked quietly and politely to the worker. the lady points to an isle talking about scary games and movies.

i could tell from the excitement on miles' face, he was intrigued. quickly, he thanks her and picks the camera back up. "fun."
