(Y/N)'s POV

"Ethan, please. You can't do this!" I argued.

"No, I have to. It's the only way the gods can see what they have done wrong. You can't stop me." Ethan snapped.

"Ethan. You don't have to do this! What about us? What about your friends at Camp? Why throw them all away just to get revenge?" I answered back.

"I don't have anyone left besides you. Which is why you need to come with me. We can avenge ourselves against the gods together. Then we can life together, happily. Please, you need to come with me." He pleaded.

"No, Ethan. You're just going to get yourself killed. Stay with me. Please." I responded. I was beginning to lose hope. He was going to help raise Kronos. He was probably going to be murdered by the power-hungry titan. But I couldn't betray my friends and family at Camp Half-Blood. That wasn't me.

"Ethan, please. Just stay with me. Please." I begged, tears forming in my eyes.

He pulled me close, whispering in my ear. "No. I have to leave. But I promise I won't die. I'll come back once the gods have been destroyed. We can live together. In Chicago. Just like we planned." Ethan finished.

"Ethan, if you destroy the gods, then I-" my voice cracked, broken by the pressure of what I was going to say. "I  won't stay with you." I turned and fled, running as far from him as I could. Tears clouded my vision, but the only thing I saw was the last facial expression of him I ever saw. Shock and betrayal and hurt and disappointment all jumbled into one expression.

-Extended ending. I had half a mind to leave you with a very sad ending but I'm kinda nice so here-

The battle. I hoped to see Ethan again. I was fighting for my life. I was surrounded by seven monsters and four traitor demigods.

One of the demigods said to me, "Take your last breath, Kitty. The tigers are coming out to play. And they don't like helpless kitties like you." His breath stank. His eyes glowed with evil. Suddenly, his face contorted into pain and horror. He fell, and standing behind him was just another camper who loved to flirt with me. I rolled my eyes and swung my body around. We were back to back, fighting off monsters and traitors. We cleared out the creatures that had surrounded me, moving together.

We were doing well. I could see us progressing towards the main battle.

I scanned the crowd, looking for the mess of black hair belonging to Ethan. There! I spotted him, fighting Percy. Ethan went to strike Percy's back but Annabeth slammed against Percy and took the blade to her side. I rushed over to Annabeth, completely ignoring the one I loved.

"Annabeth. Stay with us." I pleaded. She had helped me on the first few dates with Ethan. She had been an amazing friend. I couldn't bear to see her die.

Once they could actually leave, due to the amount of enemies, Percy and a few others raced back to the base. I stayed back, knowing that less people to worry would be better.

After many hours of battling, I saw Ethan, Kronos, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover head into the Empire State Building. I ran over to follow them, but it was too late. A force field-like thing had been put up and I couldn't get in. I turned around and guarded the entrance.

I was busy fighting a hellhound when I heard it. A scream. Someone falling. But not just anyone. I knew that voice. It was Ethan Nakamura. I could feel it. I could feel his death. My vision blurred. I ran. And ran. And ran. I ran from the battle. I ran from my friends and friends who had become family. I ran from everything.
