Nico di Angelo x Will Solace: You Are My Sunshine

First of, no this is not an x reader oneshot. Sorry, but I thought this would fit better with Solangelo. It's your point of view, but you are telling the story(like to another camper).

When Nico and Will started dating, it was beautiful. Whenever Nico was feeling sad, or extra death-y, Will would pull him close and softly sing "You Are My Sunshine" to him. Even from far away, if you couldn't hear Will's voice, you knew what he was saying.

Then that day came. That horrible, awful day. You know how in the movies, the bad days are always dark and stormy and the good days are bright and colorful? It was a bright and colorful day. Everyone in camp was happy. Today was the day.

Will, Nico, and I trudged up the hill to the small clearing that day there. The prophecy we had received had clearly stated what needed to be done. One of us would need to die. Not just die, but be brutally sacrificed so that a certain monster wouldn't be released. The gods had tried to convince the monster to take a mortal's blood, but it wasn't going to back down. It's thirst for demigod blood needed to be quenched, and one of us was going to be it's drink.

None of us said anything on the walk up. None of us wanted to. We all knew what had to happen. One of us was going to be ripped apart and then the monster would drink their blood, while the victim was still alive, and fall back into its 100 year slumber.

We reached the top of the hill. We could see the monster circling a stone alter. I could feel the power emanating off its body. I swallowed, afraid of who was going to die.

"You." The monster's voice wasn't real. It was projected into our heads. "You are going to die."

I couldn't tell who he was talking to, but I feared it was me, as I could hear his voice and it sounded like he was talking to me. I glanced over at the other two, who seemed to have similar looks on their faces.

"Which one of us?" I called out. "Which one are you going to kill?"

"Tough decision. All of you look sooo tasty!" His hissing voice sounded in our heads again. The voice was quiet for a moment, before stating. "Blondie. The boy."

"NO!" Nico screamed. "Don't take him! I wouldn't be able to live if you do!"

"What do I care about your pathetic mortal lives?!?" The voice thundered. The three of us covered our ears, as if that would help block out the noise of the monster's roar. "Your kind is just another pest to walk the face of the earth!"

"At least let me say goodbye." Will stated. Without waiting for an answer, he pulled Nico aside. He pulled him close and the two shared a special moment. I turned away and sat in the bare ground, giving the couple their space.

It seemed like an eternity later (in reality it was only a few minutes) before Will and Nico came back to me. I stood up and the three of us faced the monster.

"I am ready." Will stated calmly. His voice was steady, but I could feel the fear radiating off his body.

"Good~" the monster hissed. "Step closer to me and I'll prepare you for your death."

Before he stepped up, Will turned to Nico and gently grasped the pale boy's hands. "No funny business. When I'm gone, I'm gone. Don't try to bring me back. The sacrifice doesn't work like that. I love you, Nico."

"W-Will. Please don't do this. I love you, how can I lose you?" Nico's voice cracked as he spoke.

"Shh, Sunshine. You'll see me again. You can always come visit me." Will gently rubbed circles in his boyfriend's palms. "I'll always love you."
