A/N: The setting in the beginning is Reader's dance class btw. I don't take dance so if I use the wrong terms I'm sorry. In the story you take dance classes. And you still go to school during the school season and you go to Camp Half Blood. And you're in high school.
(Y/N)'s POV

"Is that the best you can do?" My instructor taunted. I was in a dance class, trying to learn a dance for the play my school was doing.

"It's done like this." He growled. My instruction executed the move flawlessly. Even if my instructor was male, he was way more graceful than I was.

"Do it." He huffed angrily.  I tried to copy his movements but I ended up falling on my butt. I am very glad I take private lessons. No one but the instructor could see all of my fails.

My instructor muttered a few colorful words under his breath. "Get up. Try again. We will stay here until you get this right. No matter how long it takes." He sneered. "Even if it takes all night."

~Many hours later~

I think he let me go out of pity. But ten again, my instructor was ruthless so it was probably because it was almost 11pm and we were both starving.

I walked to the locker room and grabbed my bag from the bench. I opened it and pulled out my shorts and jacket. I slipped them on over my leotard.

After turning the lights off, I ran to my car. I was old enough to drive to and from school, work, and dance. I didn't really want to go home, so I drove to Camp instead. My mom was probably drunk by now and Dad was on a business trip in Oregon. My three younger siblings should be at the neighbors' house.

I started the car's engine. It failed. I tried again. And again. And again. Groaning, I pulled out the phone that I rarely used and dialed one of the few numbers in the contacts list.

Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Hi, this is -

"Hello? (Y/N)? What are you still up? Don't you have school tomorrow?" Annabeth asked.

"Yeah, I do but dance class..." I trailed off. "Anyway, can you come pick me up? My car broke down again."

"I'll be there in 10 minutes." She answered and hung up.

Even though Annabeth was a few years older than me, we were still very close friends. She loved spending time with me, talking about boys (or girls or both) and watching chick-flicks until ungodly hours of the morning.

Sure enough, ten minutes later I see her pulling up in the dance studio parking lot.

"Hey! Need a ride?" Annabeth called to me.

I laughed and grabbed my school bag and my dance bag. "Yeah, can you get me to Camp?"

She nodded and drove out of the parking lot.

I reached over and turned the radio up.

"And it's too co~o~o~old outside for angels to fly. Angels to fly. Ripped gloves, raincoat..."

"So how was class?" Annabeth asked, turning the radio down.

"Terrible. I swear that my teacher is out to eat me. And the worst part is that he might actually be." I responded with a smile.

"So you staying at Camp for a while? Family problems again?" She asked.

"Like always... I just feel so bad for my brother and sisters. They have to deal with her more than I do." I sighed. "I'm actually thinking about moving out after I finish high school. I would probably bring them with me."

"What about college?" Annabeth asked.

"Yeah, maybe..." I responded, turning the radio back up.

~Couple minutes later~

"Bye. See you tomorrow?" Annabeth asked.

"Maybe. I need to head to school tomorrow. I have an exam in second period. Then another in eighth." I rolled my eyes and waved goodbye as she drove away. Probably to Mrs. Jackson's house to help with the baby.

I stumbled into my cabin and slumped onto my bed. I braided quietly when I remembered the thing called homework.

~School the next day~

BRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!

"Hey hey hey. The bell doesn't dismiss you. I do." Mrs. Karson said.

We all started at her.

"You may go."

I rushed out of my class and ran into someone.

"Hey Luke!" I leaned up and kissed his cheek. "I didn't know you were coming here today!"

"I only came to make you skip class. Wanna go to the beach?" He asked, his lips moving perfectly.

"That'd be great. I'd love to go with you. I'll need to grab my bathing suit first." I batted my eyelashes and looked at him with puppy eyes. "Will you drive me home so I can get it?" I asked sweetly.

He smiled and replied, "Anything for my girlfriend."

We drove to my house and I grabbed my suit then changed. I pulled a pair of shorts over the bottoms and a tank top over the top.

"Aww. Can't I see it?" Luke asked when I came out of the room, trying to use the puppy eyes.

"Nope!" I said, popping the p. "Not yet."

He rolled his eyes. "Fine. Then I'll just find someone else to take." He turned and walked away.

"Babe, I'll let you see it if you give me one thing." I bribed.

He turned around, and eager look on his face. "What?"

"You have to help me with my homework."

"WHAT? No I can't do that!!"

"Then I'll have to change into a less-hot bathing suit."

"No! Okay, fine. I'll help you. Now can I see it?" He begged.

"At the beach."

"Fine. But you have to show me."

We got to the beach and Luke parked his truck. I grabbed my towel and Luke's hand. I smiled at him and kissed his cheek, just grazing the corner of his lips.

He turned to look at me. I dropped my towel in the bed of his pickup truck. He grabbed my hips. I cupped my hands on his face. He pulled me closer and he kissed me. We made out for a while, not even caring about the stares and disgusted looks we got. All that mattered was him and me. Together. Forever.

"GAAAHHH!!!" I screamed as I felt a pain in my back. I looked down and saw a knife tip poking thought my stomach. My vision blurred and I looked at Luke. His face. His body. His hair. The scar. His eyes. Oh, the pain in his eyes was worse than the pain I felt.

I crumpled to the ground. Luke must have said something, for his lips moved. I couldn't hear anything. The pain was too intense.

"AAHHH!!" I screeched as the knife was removed. Luke retired with the knife in his hand. A pool of blood was forming around my body on the pavement. The knife was dripping with blood. My blood. I saw Luke's eyes flash between emotions. I could only discern a few. Worry. Pain. Anger. I looked behind me and saw a humanoid monster. Wait... I know that face... it's.. it's.. my dance instructor?!? I looked back at Luke.

"I'm sorry." I whispered.

Then the world was spinning. Then silence. Peace. Calmness. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
