The Five
"Chaos is the angel that fell in love with the Devil."-
"You didn't have to come here if you didn't want to," Elena muttered as her sister shot a bolt at her, not even bothering to take it easy like they agreed. It would've hit her square in the stomach had Stefan not pulled her out of the way. All America had to offer was a blank look as she reloaded the crossbow. "She does want to, she just shouldn't be taking out her frustrations on you," the vampire met her gaze pointedly, "right, Nora?" It had been three days since the hospital bomb and three days since she had seen Klaus, the latter of which was a miracle considering they lived in the same house.
It made avoiding the man easier, however, a pastime America had taken up given that the thought of even crossing paths with the man put her in a bad mood. She slept in her own bed for the first time in months and she went nowhere near his study, the hybrids perceptive enough to steer her away when the man was around or keep him on one side of the home when she was on the other. How long it would continue like that, America wasn't sure but until then, everyone in her path over the age of six was under fire when one of her foul moods hit. At the moment, Elena was the unfortunate victim. "Works in her favour—you can't let your guard down."
The following bolt grazing her sister's arm was a prime example of why. Elena scowled as she pressed her hand to the healing wound, Stefan pinching the bridge of his nose with a heavy sigh. "Don't let my—I'm not expecting my sister to try and kill me because you refuse to talk to your. . . your whatever-he-is!" America blinked slowly, eyeing the brunette with a frown before she wordlessly fired a bolt into the girl's shoulder. Elena's eyes widened, a gasp stuck in her throat as she jerked back while clutching the bolt. "Nora, what the hell!" Stefan half-supported the new vampire, casting her a glare that the woman only returned with a blameless tilt of her head.
"Why—oh," Elena paused, barely flinching as Stefan swiftly pulled the bolt free, "it didn't hurt." America arched an eyebrow at her sister almost mockingly. "I'm your sister, not a monster."

"This wasn't a bad idea, was it?" America glanced up from her phone to peer at the brunette with bland eyes before looking past her and out the window at the pair she had been watching for a few minutes now. Damon and Bonnie stood under a tree on the west side of the Whitmore campus, glaring at each other seemingly in silence while they waited for the sisters to join them. The woman glanced back at Elena. "No," she hummed but the brunette's shoulders remained tensed because, after the morning they had had, Elena knew she wasn't done. "It's actually a horrible idea learning how to feed with the vampire who overstepped a lot of your personal boundaries but Caroline's busy, Stefan's a ripper and I'm a ripper 2.0.
"So, it's your only option other than starving." Elena let her head fall back against the headrest. "The last half would've been just fine. I didn't need the rest." She grumbled as she turned the key and shut the car off. "You need to talk to Klaus. I hate you all snappy and mean." America side-eyed the vampire as she opened her door and stepped out, the brunette following suit. As the raven-haired young woman rounded the car to join Elena, she decided to bite her tongue against the mean retort that automatically came to mind. There would be many more instances that tested her patience between Damon and Bonnie so it'd be smart of her to start now.
