*August 5* -- One week after ENCORE Release (released late because of the accident)

"I'll pick you up at eight, okay? We'll meet the rest of the girls at Denny's at 8:30 and our appointment is at ten."

"That sounds fine hon. I'll see you then," I said, before hanging up.

Ally, myself, and the other bridesmaids were going to get fitted in our dresses for the wedding. Which was a month away.

I, being her best friend, was the Maid of Honor. Unfortunately, especially since the wedding would be on a lake, outside, Ally wanted a summery theme.

We'd be wearing yellow, floor-length dresses.

It was causing me more stress than it should've; I wasn't much a fan of the color yellow, especially on myself. Yellow was just a color I wasn't good at wearing, I supposed.

We hadn't picked her dress yet. We'd narrowed it down to three, but two of the three stopped just below the knees, and the other was a more fitted floor-length look.

In essence, the bridesmaids would all be wearing much larger pieces than the bride herself.

But, it was her wedding. Her call.

She had called me the day after Hunter and I had basically set them up at her apartment.

She said Dylan hadn't known how to verbally respond to her plea, so he responded through physical demonstration.

I stopped her there. That was enough information for me.

Dumbed down, the engagement was back on. Ally was on a high I'd never seen before, probably a combination of relief and twice the original excitement. They'd be married September 7.

Dylan and Hunter had spawned a cool friendship. They found their connection with cars, and had mutually picked out an old Mustang to work on together. It was currently sitting in Dylan's garage. When Hunter wasn't working, it sometimes seemed like he spent more time with Dylan than anyone else, including me.

But, I didn't mind all that much. I thought it was cute how close of friends they'd become. Not close enough for Hunter to be in the wedding party, unfortunately, just because the friendship was so young and Dylan already had is best man and groomsmen picked out. It would've been cool. But it wasn't a big deal. Hunter'd still be there at the wedding.

For the two of us, it'd been a pretty hectic few months. He'd released his album the week before. He was constantly on the road, doing acoustic radio play-ins, call-in and live interviews all day.

I ended up quitting my job at the coffee shop and got an opportunity to work as a front desk associate secretary at a local vet's office. Ally had called a friend of hers, the vet herself, told her about my background, etc... We set up an interview, which went well, and evidently she had confidence I could do the job. I didn't pay much, but it was something. And I got even more exposure to the veterinary profession.

I got a text from Hunter.

'Not gonna be able to make it back tonight for dinner... Dann needs me to be at a radio round session at 7. I'm rly sorry. Maybe tomorrow? ...'

I sighed to myself.

'That's fine. Be safe today, blow em away ;)'

'You're the best'

I set my phone down as the phone rang. I answered the door to a gleeful Ally, and laughed at her excitement through my apprehensiveness about this dress.
