When I was little one of my servants would read me a story. A story from an old book from before this country was called Norta. According to this book Norta was once called America. I showed it to Elane before queenstrials last year. She told me it was only a fairy tale that people had the same blood. Somewhere deep down, I wished it was reality. Our different views on how reds should be treated was the reason the Lakelands went to war with us.

So it's truly our fault.

But Cal planned to change all that.  We had planned a lot of changes for Norta .

For hours we had been bouncing idea's back and forth, "Red Equally.." I said suddenly, he perked up his tired head coming up from his desk. "That's Brilliant Evie!" He said, I blushed at his sudden use of my childhood nickname. "Should you bring it to the Royal Court?" I asked sitting down in the chair facing out towards the open courtyard.

Reds and Silvers bustling around shopping at the market. I saw a few familiar faces; Mare and Kilorn.

Kilorn.. I wish I could choose. Elane and him both have asked me many times to choose; He or him. But I can't I just can't. Kilorn is the one I go to mostly for sexual favors, but Elane is the love of my life. Now she carries the unborn child of my brother.

But I know that Pregnant or not she would never even think of touching me, knowing that he has.

"Evie, are you listening!" Cal said now standing before me. I looked up greeted by his fiery eyes.

He was like an older brother to me!

"This plan better work, or we'll be stuck together till one of us dies." I said gritting my teeth looking back out the window.

I remembered the area, Mare..or Mareena as I had known her. I saw the way he looked at her. We both had that..love! But his brother ruined that for us both.

He would pay, He would pay for choosing me to be his queen, he would pay for hurting mare, and he would pay for the king..

             both of them

I woke up to the bright morning sun shining in my eyes. The room practically echoed with my many thoughts. Each one louder than the other. My head aching and my heart pounding.

My dream haunting me, and my reflection taunting me. I saw myself as I truly wanted to be, ever since I was a child. Tanned skin, Green eyes, Golden locks that went down my back.

     It made me wonder, why?

Why are Silvers different from Reds, and what happened long ago that made us this way.
