Chapter Five| Trust Issues

         After I told him the horrible news; about his beloved Mare. I felt as though I made a grave mistake. I took away the one thing his was fighting for. The girl he thought had truly loved him, and I wish that he could have seen it sooner. 

       I didn't always love Elaine or Kilorn, I used to really like Cal. I had always had a really big crush on him, not his crown like everyone had thought I had. I didn't even know why, it was ears ago when he was 15, he didn't notice me anyways. He was to interested in war, or to just avoiding Maven and the "blame game". You see Maven was childish as hell and threw a pathetic tantrum when things didn't go his way. He also always made me out to be the bad guy whenever I was around, which since father was always helping the king plan out battle strategies...

     Let's just say I got to spend hours each day having my hair pulled by a childish teenager. Not fun. Anyways,when I finally had my chance at impressing him I was to late because he had already begun to fall for Mare. I wish that I could tell him now how I feel, but then had think that what I told him was lie. Because I let my emotions get it the way.

    Kilorn told me already that our little affair was over because of Elaine, and Elaine ended it because she fell for my brother, father of her new born son. Now, my only chance at happiness is if Cal notices me, and my feelings for him.

    I got up out of bed for the first time in almost a week and went to say good morning to Cal. I had reached his sleeping chambers and opened the door. Before seeing Mare, laying on his bed, her dark skinned body naked, and exposed. He walked back into the room and looked over at her, I could say what happened next because I left.

   I couldn't bare to see it, him with her, the little red slut who betrayed him.
