At last another day of school has ended.

Their third year of high school was definitely not a walk in the park. Burgess High's expectation was greater and they are given more workload. Adding to that was her other responsibilities. She was chosen as representative for archery and of course her lessons with her mother. In truth, Merida was really grateful for all the opportunities given to prove herself. But still, Merida needs her rest.

Merida was thankful that she and Jack were already on board the train home. Even if it's just a short while, she wanted to sleep. She needed to review for another quiz tomorrow once she got home and after their class tomorrow, she would have archery practice.

The train was full but fortunately both of them got a seat.

Merida leaned her head onto Jack's shoulder once they were seated and Jack automatically leaned his head on hers. Merida was already dozing off but then she was rudely awakened.

A phone rang. It was coming from the girl sitting beside her. She answered her phone and started talking very loudly.

Merida couldn't sleep. The girl was too loud. It was a long conversation but thankfully, just before Merida could go crazy, it ended.

Merida was at peace again. She tried sleeping again.

But then there was another disturbance.

The same girl started singing in a loud voice. Merida thinks it was one of Justin Bieber's songs (she wasn't sure, she doesn't listen to him). It was very upbeat and catchy, and it does not inspire sleep at all.

Merida was starting to lose her patience. She wasn't stopping and she's even clapping with the song's beat.

'For goodness' sake, have she no consideration to other passengers at all?? It's like she owns the train!'

Merida even started covering her ears just so she could get the point but no, she just kept on singing. And not to be rude, but she was no Rapunzel. She seriously needs self-actualization and realize she's no singer. Merida should know; her best friends are (there's Rapunzel, and there's Anna).

Other passengers are even starting to look at her funny.

Merida didn't realize her brows were furrowed until Jack tried to iron it straight.

"Mer..." He coaxed.

"Jack... I can't sleep." She complained.

Jack suddenly hugged her. Well, it was almost a hug; he placed his head on top of her shoulder and her head on top of his, their cheeks kissing.

Their position was more comfortable for Merida now only she could still hear the girl's voice.

But then Jack started singing in her ear. His voice was very soft, he was almost whispering. He was singing Aqualungs' Brighter Than Sunshine.

"Let the rain fall, I don't care.

I'm yours and suddenly you're mine

Suddenly you're mine

And it's brighter than sunshine."

Merida could still hear the girl's voice but it wasn't as annoying as before. It was as if her sense of hearing were focusing solely on Jack's voice. Even if he wasn't singing, his voice always calms her down. It was music to her ears.

She smiled at the thought, she must really love Jack—she was becoming mushy.

Merida sighed in content against Jack.

"Thank you." She whispered.

And without realizing it, Merida started dozing off.
