And remember me, sweet bravery, ‘cause after all those wings will take you up so high” –Owl City

Sandwiches aren’t good all the time in all honesty, but when you’re hungry and you have nothing else to fill your grumbling stomach, it sure would mean the world to you.

That’s why we’re currently in the school canteen with me technically murdering Sierre’s poor sandwich using my mouth. I moaned in every bite, not taking a lot of time in chewing it. My throat actually hurts now since I keep on swallowing big chunks.

Sierre and Nilla stared at me with wide eyes, obviously taken aback by how I ate the sandwich.

Maybe I have just been exhausted with Physical Education. Yeah, that’s probably it, considering it was the subject before vacant period. With the soaring temperature in the gymnasium that it could already be a giant sauna, not only Mr. Strong tortured us with tons of warm-ups and what not, but we were also sweating like pigs the whole time.

Look at that name. I have been thinking that he’s really made to be a P.E. teacher with his name being Mr. Coach Strong and all. See what I mean? Never mind.

Or maybe because we have been looking for Nate for the past half-hour. We did see him during P.E., but for some odd reason running in that head of his, he immediately ran out of the gym with the three of us hanging on the air. And because we tried looking for him in the cafeteria, I realized how hungry I actually was, so I spoke out my thoughts and Sierre had no choice but to give me her sandwich just to shut me up. Well, maybe that’s not. It’s not that hard running around the school campus, though, so it’s no big deal. I’ll just stick with the first.

But no one said that it could never be both- okay, I may have been over thinking about this too much.

So, anyways, the sandwich is non-existent right now, so we went on with improving our notes for Language and Arts class. I found out today that the school always has at least a week-long break for All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day. Our last day would be Halloween, which would fall on a Thursday, so they set the examination dates on Monday and Tuesday for seniors. I just hate it because my and Nate’s birthday is on a testing day.

Feeling agony on the day I get to celebrate my seventeenth birthday, how great.

On the good side, we get to be sent home three hours earlier, so I just won’t complain. At least we are given a day before Halloween to fish out a costume.

“Hey!” A loud voice boomed, making me jump in surprise and accidentally slide my pen across the paper. I turned to glare at the source of the voice, only to be surprised that it was Nate.

Nilla hissed once he reached our table. “Where in the land of Ooo did you go?”

Instead of being terrified, he just sent her a wink. “Missed me already?”

Cocky Nate is back again.

“Anyways,” he spoke. “I have been looking for you right after gym, thinking that you’ll go out using the front door. Then when the gym got deserted, I was still waiting, until I got sick of it and ran.”

Nilla rolled her eyes at him while Sierre kept silent. What’s happening to her?

“And, oh yeah, I got news.”

My head snapped to face him. “Spill.”

“It turns out that the queen bee’s birthday is tomorrow, so obviously, there’s another party to be thrown. Everyone’s invited.”

It was my turn to roll my eyes at him. “And you’re telling me because?”

He smirked at me. “We are crashing that party.”
