"Olivia!!" Rowan yelled from the kitchen. He had got in early this morning from work and was to tired to cheak on Liv when he got home. So he decided to do it when he woke.
He walked down the hallway toward her room. Her door was closed shut so he knocked on it.
"Libbie? Princess?" He softly cooed opening the door to her room.
There on the bed was Liv fast asleep her curls sprawled over her face. Rowan chuckled at the sight of Liv snuggling her stuffed bunny bubbles.
He walked over to her bed and sat next to her.
"Olivia wake up." He said softly rubbing her back coaching her to wake up.
Olivia groaned in protest, "Daaadddy." Olivia whined. She raised her head to look at him, "I was sleeping."
Rowan laughed at her. Her hair was smashed on her face from the side she was sleeping on.
"Daaadddy." Liv whined more.
Rowan moved her hair from her face so he could see her face. He smiled warmly at his daughter and Liv returned the smile.
"Good Morning Princess." He kissed her on the forehead in greeting.
"Good Morning Daddy." She rubbed her eyes letting go of her bunny for the time being. Rowan grabbed the bunny.
"I didn't know you still slept with Bubbles." He glanced at his daughter before turning back to the bunny. "You remember when I bought it?"
Olivia eagerly nodded, "Yeah. I was 6. It was my birthday. It was the best day ever."
"And I dressed you up in your little princess outfit and we went to a carnival."
Olivia began laughing, "And I fell into a puddle and ruined my whole outfit." Rowan joined in with the laughter remembering Liv's tantrum.
"You had the biggest fit a six year old could give." He chuckled poking her nose.
They fell into a comfortable silence. Just enjoying being with each other.
"Daddy can I ask you a question?" Liv broke the silence fumbling with her thumbs.
Rowan sat the bunny down and turned toward Liv. He brought her close to him hugging her tightly.
"You can ask me anything."
Liv closed her eyes taking a moment to prepare her self.
"Why do you hate me?" She avoided looking at him.
"Why would you ask that?" Rowan was shocked. Why would she ever think he hated her.
"Libbie I could never hate you. No matter what you do."
Olivia looked up at him, "That doesn't include being with Mellie though right? Because you hate that I'm gay." Her eyes were filled with tears.
Rowan let out a sigh, "Olivia-"
"Why don't you except me? Why are you so mean if I even mention Mellie's name or if I'm even around her? Why did you take me to the Pastor? Why?" Her voice was soft, her eyes filled with unshed tears.
Rowan looked down at his daughter. Was he really being that bad?
Rowan's POV:
She thinks I hate her. Was I that bad that I made her think that I hated her?"Libbie I don't hate you sweetheart. I don't hate who you are."
This is hard for me to admit, but maybe it's time to tell her how I really feel.
