Softly and quietly, Elsa heard the sound of a violin. Her father's violin. The sound was sweet and steady, causing Elsa to lift her head towards the luscious sound.
"Wandering child, so lost, so helpless, yearning for my guidance..." A rather soft and entrancing voice sang out towards Elsa. Elsa scanned around her, searching for the voice's owner.
"Angel or father? Friend or Phantom? Who is it there, staring?" Elsa questioned with bewilderment as she stared at her parent's tomb. She knew the voice well, she knew him since her childhood but yet she did not know his name.
"Have you forgotten your Angel?" The voice asked more hypnotic than before with hurt detected in its captivating voice.
"Angel, oh speak. What endless longings, echo in this whisper," Elsa sang as she stood on her two feet. As she did a glowing light was lit in her parent's tomb.
"Too long you've wandered in winter, far from my fathering gaze," The voice sang softly as the glow of the light grew brighter and the gate to the Winter tomb began to open from Elsa to enter. He was drawing Elsa towards him.
"Wildly my mind beats against you..." Elsa confesses while increasingly mesmerized as she gazes up.
"You resist," The voice says.
Both now sang together, Elsa singing 'yet my soul obeys...' while the masculine voice sang, 'yet your soul obeys...'. Both voices together sounded like a perfect harmony. Together the two were perfect. Together they were one.
Elsa gradually moved her way up the steps as she sang," Angel of music! I denied you..." The Angel sang while Elsa sang, "Angel of music! You denied me..." Then they both sang as one, "turning from true beauty..."
"Angel of Music!" they sang but their next words changed from one another's. Elsa singing magnificently and genuinely 'my protector' and her Angel singing 'do not shun me'.
"Come to me strange Angel..." Elsa asked while the Angel sang, "come to your strange Angel."
Elsa was at the top of the stairs, all she had to do was walk three steps and she would be with her Angel. She would be with her father.
"I am your Angel of Music...come to me; Angel of music," the voice beckoned and in the faint background Elsa could hear some whispered the words with the voice. It was alluring and perfect.
She was ready to say goodbye. She was ready to come to her Angel of Music.
Yet, she was stopped.
"No, Elsa, wait!" Hans' voice shouted through the cemetery. He throws himself off the horse and ran towards Elsa, who was making her way towards the doorway.
"Wait!" Hans yelled as he took his sword and grasped Elsa. Pulling away from the door and the light.
"Hans," Elsa said with a tone Hans could not detect, but he was sure she was happy he had saved her.
"Whatever you believe, this man-this thing -is not your father!" Hans yelled desperately at her as he shook her. Elsa gasped and screamed at his tight grip.
Hearing her cry, the Phantom dropped from the rooftop. Sword in hand he pushed Hans away from Elsa. Elsa gasped slightly to see the Phantom, but glad she did.
A sword came crashing down on the phantom. Fortunately, the Phantom comprehended the attack approaching and moved him and Elsa out of the way swiftly. With a gentle push, the Phantom ushered Elsa to stay back. Elsa obeyed her Angels request and ran down the steps and watched the event.
Sword against sword. Man against man. Phantom against Vicomte. Who would win the hand of Elsa?
Elsa watched as the two men crashed sword against each other, both aiming to kill one another. Sounds of metal against metal, the Phantoms cape, and Hans groans as he retreated were heard throughout the air.
Hans jumped out of the phantoms way and attempted to jump over the graves but managed to fall instead. The phantom repeated the Vicomte movements and gave an immeasurable performance, unlike the Vicomte.
The fight was vicious and Elsa on some occasions had to look away. She knew that the two men loathed each other due to her, but she never thought she would see the day they were trying to kill one another.
The continued to manoeuvre around, causing to Elsa to follow the steps but leaving them plenty of space between. Slashing, hitting and striking one another. Their footing was superb and their defensive skills were just as good as each other. If it weren't for the statues, gravestones, branches and other objects that were in their way the fight would not have been as entertaining.
Hans lost his footing which allowed the Phantom to strike his arm. Blood poured out onto the white sheet of snow. The snow seemed so pure compared to the red liquid the expanded as it poured from Hans' arm.
With the triumph of striking Hans, the phantom smirked. The smirk only caused Hans' anger to fume further. His strength had doubled and his speed quickened. The new technique of Hans' caused the Phantom to retreat. Quickly, the Phantom tried to come accustomed to the technique but it was too late.
Hans had pushed the Phantom with great force. He fell to the ground. With a quick flick, the sword was out of the Phantoms hand. Hans smirked happily as he brought his sword down.
"No, Hans, no!" Elsa yelled as she watched from the afar. Hans glared at her for a moment.
"Hans, I will marry you, but leave him alone. Let him live and I will be yours," Elsa promised him as she looked over to her Angel who lay helplessly on the ground. She walked over when she saw Hans' stance slacken. Hans looked back at the Phantom who was watching Elsa.
"I will be yours, Hans," Elsa told him hoping to attract his attention. Elsa did not want her Angel to die. No that would break her.
Hans stepped away from the Phantom who lay on the floor, panting. He marched over to Elsa as he placed the sword back in its place. Gripping her tightly, Elsa suppressed a scream as he thrust her onto the black stallion. He followed suit, making sure Elsa was holding him.
Making sure they passed the Phantom who had by then stood on his feet, Hans gave a wicked grin of satisfaction. The Phantom seeing the Vicomte's smirk ignored him and glanced at Elsa who looked at him with sorrow and tragic eyes.
She had saved him. She had saved him from death. And most importantly she did not say yes to Hans' proposal because she loved him. She said yes because of him, her Angel.
