The elevator doors slid open and Ren flew out, landing on his back and jumping back onto his feet. Watts stepped out, his hand outstretched in front of him.

"Step aside, Hunter." His eyes narrowed as he looked around for Ruby, who was now out of sight. "You have merely delayed the inevitable. Miss Rose is essential to my lady's plan, and nothing can stand in her way."

Nora smirked. "Looks like we're in the way now, buddy."

Jaune stepped up next to her and readied his weapon. "Why do you want her? What plan could you have that involves Ruby?"

Watts didn't answer, and Nora noticed him concentrating on something behind them. She tensed, and sure enough, an uprooted tree flew at her from behind.

She moved to dodge, but the tree flew right past her and slammed into Ren. He fell right at Watts' feet and didn't move to get up.

Nora's mind went blank. "Ren!"

She ran at Watts at top speed, disintegrating any tree branches he threw her way to try and slow her down.

Magnhild swung right past all of the tree debris and hit Watts straight in the chest. He flew backwards into the now closed doors of the tower and slumped to the ground.

Ren stirred, and Nora barely noticed her aura blinking in and out from the various hits she had taken from debris as she knelt beside him.

"Your aura's drained..." His hand brushed against hers as he went to sit up. A look of relief spread across her face, and she took his hand.

Nora waved off his concern. "Are you okay?"

Her partner nodded. "Yes."

A grunt of pain sounded from the direction of the tower. Nora looked over in shock, seeing Watts back on his feet. Jaune was clutching his shoulder, and a branch was laying on the ground next to him, split in half.

Ren moved to get up, but Nora gently pushed him down. "Rest first. I'll take care of him."

She didn't wait for him to respond, darting to Jaune's side immediately. He straightened, his white aura crackling and disappearing.

"We can't let him get to Ruby." Nora's eyes widened as he spoke, every bit as determined as he had been at the start.

"Jaune... Our auras are drained, even I can't hold out for much longer." She sighed as he glanced back to where Ruby had disappeared, conflicting emotions crossing his face.

"I know. She'll be back soon. I can..."

He didn't finish and glanced towards Watts, who was glaring in their direction. Nora smirked, crouching low to the ground without any further explanation.

Jaune raised his shield above his head with a smirk on his face. "Ready?"

"Yep!" Nora sprung into the air, bringing her hammer down under her feet as she landed on the shield.

She fired Magnhild, sending her flying into the air. Below her, she could see Watts constructing a shield out of concrete in an attempt to block her.

A giggle escaped her as she straightened out and raised her hammer above her head. She would have to make do without the destructive pink aura usually surrounding her.

Her hammer burst right through the concrete barrier, as did she. Watts was buried under part of the rubble, and Nora let go of the hammer in an attempt to dodge the rubble.

It skittered out of reach, but as soon as Nora moved to get out of the way, her leg froze in place. Ren met her eyes, shocked looks on both faces as she was pulled into the rubble.

Her vision went black as the concrete closed over her head.
