Hi! Welcome to the fourth book of my "The Wild Ones" Series! If you want to read the other books, the first one is "The Wild Ones (BVB), followed by "Legion of the Killjoys", then "Shadows Rising." If you haven't read those books, I suggest that you do. I don't really think it's necessary for you to read them, but some things might be a lot more understandable and clear if you do. If you do decide to go back and read them, I hope you like them.
If you have read the previous three books, and you've stuck by me this long, welcome back! Welcome to part four! I hope this book does you all justice, and you enjoy it just as much, if not more, than the other books.
Before we start, I just want to say thank you to those who have stuck by me this long. I know it's a lot of reading, but thank you all so much for all the support you've given me and these stories! It means a lot!
Also, that picture above has nothing to do with this chapter. I just thought it looked really cool. :)
Let's begin!
{Author's POV}
Months had passed since the defeat of the Matriarch. The Legion of the Black had spent those months traveling around the broken earth, trying to find any and all survivors. They had learned during the early parts of the Shadow War that they were not the only ones being attacked by F.E.A.R. The organization was world-wide. And so, for months, Jinxx whisked them around the world. They hadn't found many people. Those they had found had been more than willing to go with them. They had heard of the Legion, and they were excited when they got to meet the group of rebels that lead a small army to defeat F.E.A.R himself, and afterwards defeated the Matriarch themselves. People returned with them to the factory yard, and stayed with their protectors. The Legion had traveled all around the United States, Canada, most of Central and South America. There weren't a lot of survivors, but they would rebuild the world with what they had.
One morning, the Legion was seated around the kitchen table, eating their breakfast. "Where are we going today?" CC wondered.
"We're going to start searching up above Canada, in Greenland. Once we cover Greenland, that will be it for the western hemisphere, and we can move east towards Europe, Asia, and Africa," Jinxx explained. CC nodded, and continued eating his food.
"We're heading out around 10:30. So, everybody be ready and in the basement by 10:25." The boys nodded in agreement. Andy turned to check the clock- 9:45. That gave them a little more than half an hour. Andy and Ashley finished their breakfast and headed up to their room, where they began getting dressed, pulling on their jeans, boots, and vests. The both of them took turns running a comb through their hair in their dirty, cracked mirror they'd found. Once they were done, they went together to the bathroom and brushed their teeth. Things like combs and toothbrushes were hard to find, but they had managed to scrape together some new, unused materials from abandoned and homes located all around the world. (I really hope you didn't think I was just gonna say something like they don't brush their teeth, ever, or they use dirty, old, or used toothbrushes. I'm not a savage. I'll come up with something ;) LOL!)
Andy looked out at a clock in the hallway, which read 10:00. "We got 20 minutes. Should we head down?" he asked Ashley.
"Actually, can we talk for a minute?" Ash asked, taking Andy by the hands and pulling him towards their bedroom, closing the door behind him before sitting down on the bed beside Andy.
"Sure. What's going on?" Andy wondered.
"I've just been thinking lately. Are you okay? You've seemed kind of...off. I don't really know, you've just kinda been...keeping to yourself a little, pushing us away sometimes, distancing yourself. I'm worried, Andy. What's going on?"
